Grim Misadventure #49: Skills be Changin'

About icons - looks like some skills have new icons too. So skill sheet have a bit different appearance.

First thought: support gems? Second: that’s 13 new skills! Nice!

Yeah, seems like support gems but I do not think that PoE ideas with gems is good. I prefer more polished skills.

BTW, Titan Quest had cool feature that skills become to look stronger when you put more points into it (fireball become bigger for example). Will be it implemented later in GD or there are no resources?
Will skill look different after transmutation?

There are already a few skills that do this, such as Dreeg’s Eye and Blackwater Cocktail. We may try to have more of them scale visually later on during the polish phase but yes, it is partially a man-power issue.

Cool idea. As long as “transmuting” a skill is never a no brainer then this is cool. At the same time though, you are spending skill points for this, so it has to be worth it.

They only look like PoE supports, but function more like D3 runes. Runes that have modifiers, what makes them better than runes :slight_smile:

Hell, that’s Grim Dawn transmuters, I must stop thinking what they look and function like :rolleyes:

It looks interesting, shuffling the skill deck. More options are always welcome, especially if they take signature skills and give them a little twist, opening up completely new build possibilities.

Any chance of spoiling what Cadence’s transmutation does?

this is really related to topic, but will 2-handers get another animation pass? since in my opinion, they look god awful right now.

I really like the idea of having to give up something to get something else.

I like this idea, which increases variations of actuals builds, good work CRATE !!!

Definitely not a bad idea, but i hope you’ll put it to good use and have some really good ideas with them.

а вам не кажеться что им стоит увеличить количество очков в навыках вместо 3 например 5 или 6 так даже не хватит нормально качнуться

When you raise the amount of skill points you get when you level up, the game will become to easy IMO. Because you will get access faster to certain skills in what you normally have to fight and level up a couple of levels to use that skill.

So i don’t see any point in giving us extra skill points 3 points is enough :wink:

This is an update I am very, very excited about!

Great work, this will definitely add more depth and diversity to a skill system that, at times, felt slightly rigid.

This, other unknown features AND we get multiplayer in the next build! B20 will be a breath of fresh air! Can’t wait.
