Grim Misadventure #63: Inside Homestead V2

What will be the level range on the replay of the content? I presume it’s like Titan Quest where one could finish the content, and start over again only this time against higher lvl mobs. 40-60-75?

Roughly yes. That’s still being worked out.

That was B23 and it did increase then…

This makes me so excited!!

A question to Zantai and the other devs. Would it be possible for you guys to release a “challenge” dungeon where the contents growing harder and harder to the point where we are not really expected to complete it at the current lvl cap. The reason for this is that it would be a great way to measure the weaknesses of our builds and inspire to new builds. Also it would keep us busy for a long time bonking our heads into brick walls with frustration :grinning:

Final word - I hereby declare myself a victim of severe grim dawn addiction.

Does that follow the regular “bigger risks = bigger rewards” formula as well?

They have planned something similar: Survival Mode

That’s good to hear. I guess I’ll test if the game is somewhat playable come B24 and am a bit sad if not. My observation thus far has been that performance was going down after new build and not up, though.

Wierd thing is that the performance has never been better for me.

So those 7 area’s in Homestead, will we just be doing quests to improve them? Or can we upgrade parts of the town by providing materials, and upgrade the Town through different ‘tiers’?

I propably have a entirely wrong idea of what’s planned/meant for Homestead.

Wow that’s sweet! I hope that mode will be available to those not being Kickstarters too… I didn’t know about this game until december :stuck_out_tongue:

I agree! I’d happily pay for this content as a DLC through steam. Would make sense, those who helped during the kickstarter days would get a free download code they could redeem and eveyone else could pay for the DLC. Seems fare to me

since there is no level cap increase, I hope they atleast set some of the items that can be found now, to level 40 so they can be used. Getting previews of item that can be used later is cool, but after a while its just sad to keep looking at these awesome items and not be able to play with them. so i hope there will be new item in this build or at least it unlocks some of the ones that already can be found.

That makes no sense, they only would have to set them back later and they would be a little too powerful given that they are meant for higher levels. So just work that needs to be undone later for no gain…

well if you take a look on the item compendium, you will find items like Flamebrand, that are item level 40, but requires 43… that makes no sense. it might be misinforming, but that is the info i could find. and since they want to spoil new items (by making them able to be dropped, but not used)… then it seem strange to not enable some “new” item to be used in the next build.

not to mention that there is new content in the next build, so there will be new areas to find and fight monsters… so if there is no new items to get, then why play through it… if its for a challenge, well if i challenge my level 40 character against hard enemies, i would like to also be able to get rewarded for beating it…

im not saying they have to change level requirements, im saying i want new stuff to farm for. and since the requirement on some items are higher then their level, it would seem fitting that a level 40 sword requires level 40…

Item level is the minimum level, when an item can appear. And I believe it relates to the level of the mob wearing it. Or the chest containing it.

I think Crate does not want to spoil them, but this is just an inconvenience during Early Access. To prevent this they would have to set up a workaround, which will be redundant after release - wasted development time.

okay, but thats still silly, just set it to level 43 then… ? almost all other items are level 40 and riquires level 40…

its not that i am unhappy with it like angry or something, im just saying i hope there will be new stuff to play around with…

since i have gotten almost every piece of epic loot there is, it just feels sad if the next build doesn’t have anything new to farm for. i would gladly just settle for new epics, legendaries or new boss specific drops.

epic loot for the most part isn’t even the best gear possible. Start farming good Green’s with Double Affixes while waiting for the game to be released.

Actually most uniques can drop a few levels before you can equip them, nothing silly about that, it allows for you to find items you can use soon

I was somehow under the impression, that all items’ level requirement (if any) was higher than their level. But for most it is the same - I checked Two Handers.

And with the Troll Bonesmasher it is the other way around - seems off.

Edit: Still sfbistimg and mamba made good points.

i quess, i was thinking more in the lines of if they dont want to spoil new gear, it would have been easy, and not something they would have to change back
