It’s easy enough to move your save out of the cloud to back them on onto an external drive of some kind. Follow the instructions in this forum thread post.
You can then put them back once you’ve reinstalled the game. I’d advise not using cloud saving in future though as it does sometimes mess up as you’ve found. Stay on local saves and then just back them up regularly.
