v0.6.6.1 Ravna deathspawn should be fixed. I just now got time to test it.

It would appear that the run from the Rotting Croplands rift to her is about the difficulty that Grimmest should be. Pretty sure cannot add much more there without making it unplayable.

Let me know when you have tested it too Iyas. I hope you can progress this time. I realize that it is a brutal zone, but it is a dead end, so I plan to keep it pretty much like this.

just wondering if there is a way to increase the xp gained? I know you mentioned dropping it and I can understand the reasoning why, but for me it feels like I kill a million things after struggling for so long and my xp bar barely moves, would love to be able to up it a little bit so that it feels more satisfying for me personally.

And did you reduce the ätherfly thingy spawn with this version? Rotting croplands feels much better now

Glad to hear it and yes, I toned the thingies down and gave the one with the fire bombing skills a very low chance.

Did you fix the smugglers pass spawn? I have downloaded the newest version and I’m still stuck there unable to pass through.

v0.6.6.6 is up.

Pretty much 98% content complete.

All I want to do now is find bugs and release v0.7 as a STABLE version.

So have at the Devils Release of Grimmest. And be sure not to scream like a Robin_128 on twitch.

There’s a boss that’s supposed to spawn and the way forward is gated unless you kill the boss. I haven’t seen him spawn at all yet and I’ve exited the game several times trying to get him to spawn.

Same issue as this guy:

Having had some time to playtest…lets just say that some things are a bit over-the-top. Please post here your ideas on what needs to be nerfed.

I have just toned down the gastris_toxicspittle skill which can be just too OP if you encounter a Hero that uses it in a large pack.

I am also going to redo the Ancient Shambler spawn. The goal here was to possibly force some toons to head to the bridge repair site, but due to the stun skills, the numbers are too great. Will try to reduce the number of Shamblers and make the Heroes that spawn with him have a different skill set so that you do not get perma locked.

Remember, my goal is for difficulty but not one-shot type difficulty, so please post what encounters need a nerf and do not fear being attacked or called a whimp. I openly admit there are encounters that are just not possible for a new self found toon.

I am starting to get into the monster records and their skills now. First step is to reduce OP skills and then start making new named Heroes with even more skills.

If you want to suggest the following type of info, go for it, if I like it, you might have just named a new Hero.

For example:

Ug’Notua Gain, Chthonic Dreadguard - vitality and bleed focus.
It’sa Bitsy, Spider - poison focus, size reduced to minimum (aka Arachnophobia style).

Anyway, top priority right now is to find encounters that need a nerf.

Is it just me or the change(s) to experience formula doesn’t work?

I tried the formula from Grimmest (which is basically 1/4 of original).
I tried my modified formula on Grimmest (which is basically 1/8 of original).

They’re just the same.

However, what does work, I found, is “bake” the modified exp formula into the database.arz itself.

I think it was the same with TQ: certain things need to be built into the default database.arz or they wouldn’t work.

@jordan0422 - When I switched from /2 to /4, I felt that the change was not noticeable but did not really calculate anything…This should be fairly easy to test though.

Explain what you mean by bake? Rebuild the entire database.arz with all records and swap the game’s original database.arz?

Basically build the changes from Grimmest into database.arz.

Well, for me, just build the changes from gameengine.dbr into database.arz. The proxies and other stuff works fine without needing needing to be built directly into database.arz.

-copy database.arz to “…/build/mods/grimmest/database”
-rename database.arz to grimmest.arz
-select grimmest from assetmanager, then build
-copy newly built grimmest.arz to “C:…\Grim Dawn\database” and rename it back to database.arz

Great mod, mega fun with it :smiley: killing one salazar is tuff but 3 is insane :rolleyes: do whatever you have to do but don´t change this… please :eek:

I have one request if its possible, is something that annoys me since the beginning. When enemies are chansing me, at certain point they return to their spawn point if i dont attack, even if one of them are close to me. But the worst is the ignoring of my attack at their back when i star to chase. The only way to make them react is freezing them. Can you fix this kind of stuff?

i really should have taken a screenshot. but i fought 5 x herald of destruction in the immolation while trying to finish up quests on my level 87 blademaster :smiley:

i am/was using the 6.6.1 build however. so if you have fixed it since then please ignore my report.

since then I have deleted the boss/quest dir from teh proxy folder and am happy now without multiple bosses

i love wading through hordes of trash but boss horde is annoying :stuck_out_tongue:

just my preference.

Thanks for the report. I used a program to put those x5s in there as a temporary thing…I thought 6.6.6 had them all removed, but thanks to you and some streamers, I am finding there are still proxies that need love and am gearing up for a v0.7 that is done in most respects.

Herald is fixed, maybe since 0.6.6.6, but if you redownload, no reason not to get the latest dev version 0.6.6.6-dev, there are a couple more undocumented fixes in there.
