I would have paid $15.99 for the Oathkeeper alone.
What in the bloody hell is that logic LUL
Also Mr. OP never answered the question: Why do you care so much about 5 extra levels? We already have 4 skill points and 2 attribute points.
I know, I know, I know guys. "Just don’t improve and prolong the
progression of the player in a new DLC so the fun of an ARPG can be swept
away even quicker because that’s what most arpgs do, right?" B.S. Crate did
excellent with AoM and was the best DLC I’ve ever played in a video game in
a very long time. But they rightfully screwed up their second main DLC… big
time. Now we have Shattered realm which is mostly, “The Crucible II,” lots of
enemies have the same animations from the AoM Chthonians, absolutely no
player progression assuming you completed the main game and AoM on
ultimate at level 100 with 55 devotion points which makes no sense
considering that Forgotten Gods is supposed to be MUCH harder than AoM
while when AoM was released they bumped up the leveling by 15 and
devotions by 5 since AoM was going to be MUCH harder than the main game.
Plus, why make a DLC if you’re not going to make your game LAST longer
in terms of player progression and expect people to pay 16$ Wtf crate? You
are patently just looking for a money grab at this point.
What brings you to the assumption that FG “is supposed to be MUCH harder than AoM”?
Crate never said anything like that.
Devotion cap increase would be pointless. 55 points is already enormous and should never have been increased from 50. This increase allowed many builds to reach two last tier devotions for free, strengthening majority of builds by this and other means.
Zantai said on stream, if I am not mistaken, that if they added more levels they’d need to make another bunch of items that are stronger. Level 94 items would not be enough at this point, because even if “it would be”, damage numbers would go drastically higher, or they’d need to stay as they currently are due to lack of gear. The game would be still level 100 locked, even if we were able to reach level 120 (just for example). On lower levels, when AoM was not there, level 75 items were enough and fell off only after level 85 - 88, because the numbers in general were lower, however, on higher levels it’s a higher risk and balancing monsters to not be too weak/strong after level increase would/could be nearly impossible, so new items would need to be introduced and therefore expansion would need to be delayed even more (if you’ve ever tried to mod the game, you’d know how items look and that adding more of them isn’t a copy/paste thing that takes 2 minutes).
it’s less hard as the enemy leaps are somewhat more dodgeable as opposed to the spam-charging colossi in AoM.
Not the first time you have trolled before iirc but the post is false and incredibly unreasonable.
To call FG a patent money grab operation is ridiculous. The dev time involved in creating all the new content, art, areas, story, items was high. FG is not some crap mtx bundle.
Extra skill+attribute points, movement runes and balance patches. A lot of builds had item adjustments for improvement also. There is not as much progression as such as there was in AoM, but that was not the primary purpose of the expansion.
Most people will not share your narrow expectation and be able to appreciate the other aspects that FG adds to. If you don’t want to buy FG then don’t, but spouting absurd opinions probably won’t achieve anything constructive.
I’ve only read your OP.
If that is why you’d buy GF then it’s for all the wrong reasons to do so. The content it has is great, probably some of the best maps i’ve personally seen in GD so far, including monsters. And OK mastery shows how far Crate has come in building a mastery even if it’s just one. There is also SR which for someone who is sick and tired of crucible is more than welcome. Also new gear/mods etc.
Also ability to skip to ultimate, Devotion shrines plastered all over the place in ultimate with token. You get to lvl 60 in like an hour or less.
If these aren’t your thing then the decision is easy for you. Or maybe you will feel differently later on. But you don’t need to force the xpac into something it’s not
What you didn’t understand when i said it would be nice to get a little increase max devotion at least +1 (56/56) with this Xpac? Lel
Probably been said but if you see no point in buying it then don’t and move on with your life.
We all made our own choice and though I haven’t looked in detail I expect most of us made a different choice to you. Nothing wrong with that or you not seeing the point of the dlc. We all have differing life experience and / or expectations for such things and thus different views.
What I don’t see the point in is trying to convince you to change your mind. Personally I am not a salesperson and honestly I would much rather be playing the game so beyond this post that is what I intend to do.
Hope you find something that ticks the boxes for your expectations and will find as fun as I am finding the Forgotten God dlc
There was an understanding after AoM released that a second expansion would not involve a new tier of items or a level cap increase. We got what was expected and it is great!
If Forgotten Gods is a money grab, then we’re really really bad at it.
What money grabbers post a chart summarizing in detail all you get in the product before it’s released?
This thread started as some input on your thoughts on the expansion, but now it’s just getting patently ridiculous.
We charge what we believe our work is worth. Disagree? Don’t buy it. It’s a very simple exchange.
Lol
Spent a year creating a whole new story and quests, large expanse of levels with new art, enemies, items, new char class, endless dungeon and other features - EZ CASH GRAB to avoid the real work of changing 1 database number to raise level cap.
