I keep i decent amount of gear, but not all.
I see people keeping gear that I wouldn’t and yet, looking at my Item Assitant, I have like 20k items.
A few of each legendaries + epics items
And then a lot of MIS with good rools, and then you have crafing gear like the stoneplate greaves or rimeguards chausse or plagueguard grips, etc
I for one don’t use GDStash and don’t mind muling, since it reminds me of Diablo. The shared stash is enough to make the transfer easier and storing gear on multiple builds doesn’t seem like a problem because what will you use so many stash tabs per build for if not storing ultimate equipment?
You underestimate the amount of items you would keep.
If you play the game a lot, over many years, you would have a few items of each legendary, a few of each epic, a few a each MIs which has a even wider range of possibilities because of affixes.
At first muling seems fine but then when you have a few thousands of items, it’s going to be a mess real quick
D2 is a bad exemple because you have way less items compared to GrimDawn
Note : I have about 100 characters and about 20k items in Item Assistant, that’s over 12.5k hours in GrimDawn… I would never use mules again in GrimDawn
More item customization. More character skins. Character look customization. Higher graphic quality (although I know the engine is limited). More endgame. More harder enemies. More stable online multiplayer - a dedicated server would be nice. More quests and side quests. Maybe a pet or companion. Ability to save builds so we can keep changing builds using thesame character. A horse maybe for faster travel. I like the effects of spells/abilities but sometimes when it goes crazy, I can barely see my character especially when surrounded by a lot of enemies.
I have stashes organized by item type. One build has all the legendary armors, another one has all the epic armors etc. And I’ve managed to fit two or more copies of the most powerful pieces like this, on every build. I still think that even with the new items from the expansion all that would be necessary is a few extra stash tabs, nothing more.
I mean it’s fine 20 mules is nothing compare to the amount of mules I would have.
Even then 20 mules is too much when you take into account that you have to compare items you find with items into each mules (if what you find has good stats)
Seems insane to me
Also, funny enough you didn’t answer the other questions
I would rather play the game than managing every mules… How I know ? I had mules before and it was a waste of time… imaging having 100 mules lol (I didn’t get there but I would have by now) … you come to a point when you won’t care managing your mules because it will take too much time… at least that’s what happened to me, there are too many items in Grim Dawn
Final note :
I mean, you do you, I won’t convince you but the whole argument was to point out how bad it can be to manage mules over time. In D2 it’s even easier now since the new gem/runes/and other stuff added to their stash tab, that combined with a reduced amount of item compared to Grim Dawn (by A LOT).
Dynamic spell recolouring, including for global conversion, rather than one-and-done recolouring with MIs.
As you purify your skills damage type it becomes closer and closer to the true colour of the thematic damage type (I want my putrid necklace builds to be green, dagnabbit)
To someone who struggled with (old) Diablo it’s not that bad, but rather much much better because you have a shared stash to easily transfer gear. And a gazillion times more storage space than you had there. And Diablo had a lot of items, compared to how much you could store.
Well, you should limit yourself from gathering everything you get your hands on. I have 2-4 copies of each (end-game) item and maybe more set duplicates, so I can transmute them at the inventor. I don’t store anything that isn’t end-game. I also have a file to remember which mule has which type of item, in case I need to quickly find it. I for one don’t struggle at all. I’ve even split armors between two characters - one has epic and one has legendary, because armors are many and take a lot of space. The only struggle is when I’m comparing the new item with the identical old one, to see whether it has better stats and replace it in the stash. And you’d struggle with this in either case, with 10 mules or just one huge single stash. Since new gear is coming, I for one would just be happy with a few extra stash tabs (4 per character would do just fine).
save limit is a thing,
so people not needing third party tools or mules is pretty valid as long as that character slot limit exists to block people looting stuff for the 3645 classes (+xxx builds)
I’ve noticed that you can’t store everything, so I simply evolved my strategy. I only keep end-game gear, since that’s the hardest to farm. For each new character it’s more fun to find low/intermediate gear “for the first time”, so you can observe its progress through the game without everything being served on a silver platter at all times. And for the end-game gear, you store more copies of items that are generally used more in builds. For example, I’ve stored a single copy of the Corruptor set, since I haven’t yet found even one use for it on a build, but I’ve stored 4 or 5 Barbaros pants because almost every Soldier on physical uses it. After that, each time you find one more copy, if it’s better than the ones you’ve stored, you replace the worst one. The most struggle and time wasted for me is comparing and replacing the old copies with new ones.
