the one thing that i would love to see in grim dawn is to allow the player to modify the amount of items that drop,
what would be your #1 request for grim dawn?

With the rerolling of affixes on the way, i was thinking of applying something similar to item skill mutators, which are the essence of most high-end builds.
I would create a re-mutation mechanic that could randomly change the skill mutator of an item (especially 100% conversion to other damage types), something like a mini conduit (but without other bonuses).
E.g.
Colossal bulwark: Colossal Bulwark - Items - Grim Dawn Item Database
Spectral Binding
34 Aether Damage -->34 lightning damage (or range from 15 to 34)
+80% Aether Damage -->+80% lightning damage (or range from 40 to 80%)
-10% Shield Recovery Time -->Same
OR
34 Aether Damage -->same
+80% Aether Damage -->same
-10% Shield Recovery Time → +50% damage blocked (mutators can be applied from a fixed number of pool abilities).
OR
Basilisk mark: Basilisk Mark - Items - Grim Dawn Item Database
Ring of Steel
180 Acid Damage–> 100-180 chaos damage
100% Piercing Damage converted to Acid Damage -->100% Piercing Damage converted to Chaos Damage
100% Vitality Damage converted to Acid Damage–>100% Vitality Damage converted to Chaos Damage
These abilities/processes should be achieved via:
Positives:
Cons
Smart crafting UI that auto-crafts all your sub-components for a blueprint if you have the materials.
Get rid of the “8-12% X damage converted to X” on items. The conversion break points should be ~ 30, 50, and 100%. A vast majority of builds already convert 100% of their damage via item skill modifiers so the extra 8-12 feels useless.
Codex and bestiary
Solo Self found mode box tick. I dont want to delete all my characters in order to experience the first-time progression again.
I wouldn’t mind that, but you don’t have to delete anything to play SSF. You can just rename your save folder. When you want to reunify your characters, copy them into that folder and rename it back.
Automating that entire process would be nice though. A tick box for SSF and another tick box for ‘reunify’.
Improved stash and loot filters.
I’d like to see GDStash/IA become a thing of the past, without the need for mules.
The loot filter is also too narrow and, in some cases, unintuitive.
+1
I actually think these needs are related. It is because the loot filter is so limited that it is easier to just grab all MIs and filter them later in IA.
That would be handy, though I can imagine it could open up a whole new world of weird issues with cloud saves and such.
More funny meme decorative suits, similarly like Ms/Mr Gazer. A full man sized maggot or caterpillar suit comes to mind.
Perhaps a ghost-like armor parts too which makes you partly invisible and glow blue like in-game.
For me only IA directly in Grim Dawn because of the amount of gear, then again I have at least 15k to 18k items in IA (forgot the amount and I am not at home)
As for the loot filter, since I get gear for future builds, it makes it harder to reduce what you see even more, if you have at least one rare affix then it’s good enough to keep and use to reroll the affixe you don’t want in the next expansion
(I know it’s not a popular opinion but that’s what i think for now based on about 100 leveled characters to 100 and 12.5k hours )
too much to just narrow it down to 1 i think ![]()
but suppose the thing that “immediately” springs to mind is secondary effect modifiers,
so imagine an MI didn’t just add a dmg bonus to a skill but changed it more similar to ex PB conduit, or added a new effect one (like giving blitz a volcanic stride, Rune of Hag on hit type effect to bone harvest, trozan proc to OFF etc)
Sometimes i’ve taken a glance at LE skill tree i’ve had this thought “could be cool if this was an item modifier in GD”
Enable, disable, and/or add weapon glows/animations.
I know that would be an extremely low priority, but part of the fun for me is transmogging each of my characters. The looks of my weapons really make or break the overall transmog.
For example, I choose the white wolf transmog from the loyalist pack, but my weapon glows green (instead of icy white or lightning blue) because I have a poison/acid faction enchant on it. Thinking of my shield throw sentinel.
I guess I could add armor dyes as well. Some of the armors just don’t mix well with others ‘color wise,’ especially the basic ones from the lower levels.
Unless I post pics, I would be the only one to see the changes too. It’s not like it would be disruptive for ‘group play’ since I don’t play GD in multi-player.
Probably a disappointing answer, but just… more content. More stories, more quests, a couple more bosses, more items which make me stop and go “wait can I actually make a Bleed build with that skill??”.
More of the same, or at least more of the same vein I guess.
“Codex and bestiary”
i agree
“Improved stash and loot filters”
this is already coming, i cant remember where i saw it but dicated slots are coming for special items like crystals and stuff,
(also i think i saw improved loot filter is coming also )
here is the post
Yeah…no.
“more <#finite> storage!” ain’t it, chief. Especially not with more and more kinds of items (Ascended) on the way as well.
You mean 2 or 3 more stash tabs isn’t going to cut it?
