Include secret quests to quest log.

Hello! I just want to ask, will developers remake hidden quests like Daila’s Secret Quest to more obvious? Because some people feel themselves pretty stupid when piece of interesting content became locked. Especially, when you pass locations as routine. It will be nice if you add salt bags or that mmo-like named sword at some human-zombies or something like that. I know, it was Diablo II Cow Level tradition but now it seems not so funny, especially for new gamers at this genre.

I doubt they will make any changes, also, a secret quest is supposed to not be obvious…

Because some people feel themselves pretty stupid when piece of interesting content became locked.

what content became locked ?

Especially, when you pass locations as routine. It will be nice if you add salt bags or that mmo-like named sword at some human-zombies or something like that.

salt bags are easy to get, simply create a new char and place it in the transfer stash

the sword is not that easy… worst case, use a tool to get it

I know, it was Diablo II Cow Level tradition but now it seems not so funny, especially for new gamers at this genre.

there are easter eggs in all kinds of games, not just Diablo. I see no need to not have easter eggs / hard to reach content.

If you as a player have heard about the secret quest but no idea about how to go about solving it, Google is your friend.

The real issue with that quest is the fact that you get the first clue as part of a quest on normal difficulty yet there is zero indication you cannot do anything else until ultimate difficulty. Talk about some misleading bullshit!

You get the clue on any difficulty, not just Normal, and I am impressed if you figure out it is a clue and what to do with it

what content became locked ?

As I remember, many players just sold that Stormheart, which was needed to activate quest triggers. So they lost their access to Edge of Reality content. You know, if similar practice was at any MMO, they lost their players as soon as that possible. It’s like you suddently need some useless item from tutorial location to unlock hidden dungeon on cap. Nonsence! Sane developers usually hide their easter eggs using bonus quests without log-hiding, to prevent situations with lost access because you threw away another “Once upone time blah-blah…” marked sword. Why they decide to mix classical quest-style (with direct targets) and early TES quest-style (with abstract notes)? I think Grim Dawn will be my last game with RPG features, because only RPG games start to suffer garbage ideas at the most unexpected places. Why I must make new character only for one item? Where I must find salt for second character? If I right, salt bag was marked such: “A bag full of salt, seemingly to ward off evil spirits.” It’s sounds like rumor from folk. So, why I can’t get it from died human-zombies? Why developers give preference to early-beta players? I’m a new at GD. I physically could not hear about Bourbon Clones and now I found hidden and locked to my character content. That tricks was good for early Diablos, because it was brand-new game experience. Now it’s very annoying practice. Maybe they should employ Brian Sullivan again? Anyway, I can’t remember same undecidable bullshit at Titan Quest.

There is no any quest indication on any difficult. Only another “cool story bro” note in your “TL;DR” note collection.

How many clues did you get about the secret cow level?

I would say that if you’re selling a legendary item, you’re playing the game wrong.

Even if a legendary item is trash, for example Spark or Reality before 1.0.7.0, you should keep it because Crate sees that this item is trash for everyone.

Also, only people who sell legendary items because they won’t use it are people who play the game once and then cya, so it’s impossible to get Stormheart at this point, because it’s available in ultimate, not normal.

Also, if you fucked up a quest because you sold Stormheart, I don’t see any problems to leave the quest as is, make another character, get Stormheart and do this quest with both characters, transferring the Stormheart to the first character. No, it does not disappear.

Great idea! If you make something wrong in grinding game - just make another character and bring it to ultimate! Are you joke? In the next DLC devs can get another acid idea trip with another Daila’s Secret Quest™. So, I must be ready to any idiotic decision? No, thanks! That is why people prefer to play at session games, which easier to quit if you don’t like it.

And if you think that your first char in any ARPG will be “good”, than that ARPG is not complex enough game :stuck_out_tongue: The devs intention with the game is to make many many chars also and just not one. So you should see your first chars as some kind of learning experience.

What else are you gonna complain about? that you cant kill Ravager and Mogdrogen with your first char?

Look, there is plenty of stuff to do for casual players like yourself, and there must be more “hardcore” stuff for us nerds that have no life in live in our mom’s basement to do. You do not “need” these secret quests if you are casual

Well, in the next DLC you’ll be able to get a token to allow you to skip up to Ultimate if you want to.

I can see your point about the secret quest/s, but remember that it’s a very small number of players who ever reach Ultimate, never mind try these quests. Most players go through Normal and that’s it, they move on to something else.

It can be annoying if you’ve sold that old salt bag yet again and then find that it’s needed. Maybe an option on Ultimate difficulty to be able to buy a new one would help. :undecided:

but a salt bag you get by just starting a new char, and finish the first quest so that you can access the shared stash. It takes 10 minutes, max.

I didn’t see any similar option at Ultimate Difficulty. Very well. It seems like I must wait about 5 or 10 years when developers finally dicide to release some kind of “Anniversary Edition” and maybe in that version they decide to remake or throw away that quest.

in the next dlc = the forgotten gods. You can then get a certain token that can make char skip difficulties

Just learn how to do the “secret” quests. In these days, where we have internet guides, it should be no problem.

and did you hand in the talisman to the leader of the rover camp? Then you dont get a talisman relic, you are supposed to lie there :stuck_out_tongue: These are the things you learn either by reading guides or playing the game many many times. Just deal with it that Grim Dawn do not hold your hand

With that attitude there is nothing surprising why modern ARPG are begging at “Kickstarter”. Maybe it should make an option “Classic Questing” and “Nerd Questing” which erase all quest-log, leaving only gossips? Too hard to nerd vainglory? Oh… I understand! Grim Dawn was originally made only for “hard core” players, which make save backup every 30 seconds. Very hard core…

Very nice! It’s like somebody tell you end of film. Good game experience…

Look, its like 10% of the players that get to ultimate in the first place, that by itself is a “nerdy accomplishment”.

You took the interpretation of the word “hard core” wrong, I meant “hard core” as in very dedicated players, not people who necessary play hard core mode.

Just accept the fact that there are many different kinds of players that play grim dawn, and that there are many ways you can play grim dawn. If you “failed” your first char, make a new one and learn from your mistakes. Like what if you did not side with Barrowholm? There are so many things in Grim Dawn that depends on your choices, so you only learn about those if you read guides or play the game many times.

If your game experience depends on if you can do / figure out the hidden quests in any particular game - you have some serious issues :stuck_out_tongue:

Did you figure out the secret cow level in d2 by yourself too? and all the runeword recipes?

So, you advice to forget about that content only because 10% gamers get to Ultimate? Just because only 10% players get to ultimate, devs can make any geek trash at cup. You know, GD is very short game in comparison with D2. And no, I didn’t discover Tristram portal myself but I found that practice annoying in current form. It can be hidden, but why they just didn’t make Virt’s leg constantly drop for non-nerd players which decide to combine items for fun?

Not forget about it, but realize that some content will be hard to reach by just sitting by the game by yourself and not interacting with other people.

No D2 is much shorter game than GD… at least story mode and “uber bosses”. Getting to max level takes longer time in d2.

And how many runeword recipes did you discover? :stuck_out_tongue: I could not even figure out how to make ancients pledge xD even though the barbarian leader says “I was gonna make a shield with those runes”

You can argue that it is a stupid tradition, but it is a tradition still.

You know, this way to get rare items reminded me Aion, when developers force you to make more characters, to get complete Miragent Set. And this story about aetherials and chtonians very similar to drana and odium, especially part when normal trolls kills aether trolls - typical quest “Aether Insanity”. Maybe some developers forget that they make singleplayer game?
