I understand. Flying mounts it is.
So what base flyingspeed have you in mind for them?
Pro tip: use waypoints
Nothing wrong with the movement speed. Why would you have to go faster? There is no way in GD to kill enemies at same pace as in poe or d3, and there is no need to go that fast anyways. In poe you want to maximize your efficiency to get most currency or xp/hour. In d3 same thing with paragon levels. But here in gd i see no reason why you even should be able to be that fast.
This is how the game is designed. I could call myself some kind of d3 veteran with around 3k hours wasted in it, but i see nothing wrong in slower speed.
To go from point A to point B with more joy , some place don’t have a close rift; need to turtle walk very far to reach the desired farm spot and slow movement speed doesn’t help.Because the crucible is not the only area to farm, their also the open world !
And having better movement speed help ranged build , help kitting etc…Since the game attempt to turn ranged build some kind of melee combat
The base speed is good, I think it’s the cap which should be raised, 10% more, as I easily reached the 135% (devotions and skills)
I think the base speed is good but it should be raised to 150% at max level.
You don’t really notice how slow you are unless you’re farming for an MI or specific legendary. I mean I did ten sentinel runs today. It’s quite a run from Burwitch Village to reach sentinel just to try and get “Covenant of the Three” blueprint.
I mean I could prove my point by making a vid of my 10 runs but if it’s tedious for the player - imagine what it’s like for the spectators.
option speed settings will be implemented after 10 years from release… let’s all just be patient and wait for the anniversary edition;)
I hope most of us will be still alive to enjoy it
Agreed. There is a game mechanic in the speed as well that would be a little broken if every hero character could run around a max speed at all time. I like casters and I need them to move quicker because of their lack of defense. They simply can’t take more than a few hits. The melee characters need to survive that differently. The difference that 8 or 10% movespeed makes to the gameplay depending on the character type is a nuance worth keeping.
That said, there could be better access to some areas. I stumbled on Port Valbury today and after a pretty nasty trek through the area involving a few deaths I killed the aether octopus an found the skeleton key gate and I was pretty sad to see there was no riftgate nearby. I can imagine if you want to farm that dungeon it gets pretty tedious having to fight your way across the outskirts every time to get to the gate.
The movespeed is fine though, if you need extra speed keep the explorer gear handy and put a traveler mark on the boots. You can outrun most if not all mobs. Pretty sure with the boots and pants you can get anywhere in no time.
I think movement speed is ok in GD, but I don’t see how it will break the game if the movement speed is to be increased a bit. Maybe the game can increase both the player and monster movement speeds?
I am more annoyed by the slow and lengthy skill animations in Lost Ark than the movement speed in GD.
I agree with the OP. The easiest and most sensible solution, from a player’s perspective, is increased movement speed on boots. Say from 10-40%. There’s a reason movement buff items/buffs are some of the most ubiquitous sought after things in games across all genres.

Normal Boots and eventually some Pants with Movement Speed, Skills (if rentable) like Pneumatic Burst and Mark of Mogdrogen or Mark of the Traveler are enough for me.
Bounties are not that hard, just get a pair of “Boots of the unseeing Swiftness” and eventually chage if you need it to kill your Target.
If you are used to old Games, like Round Based Forgotten Realm Stuff (NWN1 and older) GD already has a crazy speed. Too Fast isn´t good either. Loock at Torchlight2 (no Cap) if you play an high attack Speed dual wielding Berserker you have a lot of effects that also boosts your run Speed. Once i tried how fast i can get and i became faster then all kinds of Projectiles (arrows, ect) and i couldnt even controll properly where i was running because it was just too Fast.
for me the actual speed is good, if you want to get faster, you could ask in the modding forum, maybee someone can help you out.
Modding is always bad since you can’t play with others anymore and you lose blueprints, you also have to use 3rd party software to bring over chars and items. It is very inconvenient.
Many seem to miss the point that movement speed becomes very overpowered once it passes a certain threshold. If you become faster than the fastest mob, you can defeat 99% of the game with kiting, while the game philosophy is obviously to balance out your offensive and defensive skills.
Basically, if you were to raise the movement speed cap, you’d make half the game’s skills unviable.
I do feel the game could use some teleport skill though, even D2 had it… I miss that skill.
