Laborers and Salvage Sites

Can we not have people hiking to Salvage sites to “shelter stock” or pick up a personal set of clothing?
Also, can we have something to let us see what’s left there? I like to send the supply wagon nearby, as it helps with the ~30 stone at each one, but seeing people hike across the map to pick up one item stinks.

Possible solution to the former: Salvage sites drop “bundles” of items that unbundle when loaded into Wagon or Storage Facility? Or am I suggesting my way into more flat tires (you wouldn’t be the first or last developers to do so)?

What if the only way to pick up stuff was to take the original wagon there? It could become automatic.

Once excavated, I believe all the bundles drop on the ground and can be seen with the F5 key. This toggles between not shown, shown as icon, and shown with quantity, similar to how F4 toggles resources that can be mined or refill each season. This same action can be used after destroying a barbarian camp as the loot would be on the ground. It sure would be nice if the remaining army there would just pick that stuff up and take it back with them. Then when they are garrisoned, they would go drop the loot off in appropriate containers, or like the trade depot, the barracks/fort could become a store all for the villagers to come pick clean. Would be nice to store weapons at these forts too.

I agree though, a wagon driver should probably be tasked with pickup up all the loot at one time and bringing it back. It’s the most efficient way to get the goods to storage. They could also be given a cleanup task to go around picking up dropped items all over the map and store them when they get too full or when there is nothing left to pick up. These wagons have a lot of wasted potential and players would most certainly be able to micromanage them better if we could direct them to pick something up. In another game I once played (The Guild 3), you could set up route orders they routinely follow moving goods to/from buildings in the quantities you specify over and over.

F5 works but I dislike using it all the time since it clutters the screen.
And I didn’t mean Wagon Shop/Wagoneers for retrieval but the Supply Wagon that holds everything at the start of the game. It’s an excellent mobile Storage Depot. Moving it to locations for mass loading there, then returning to city center areas saves on walking time. It’d save on walking time to/from Salvage Sites too, IF (!!!) people didn’t try to get 5 lumber or 1 set of clothes from the Salvage Site at a time.
