It would be great to be able to flag a spot just to keep track of something. Maybe it’s a great area of forage or minerals that you might need later, or a building you need to go back to when it’s done. Wherever you want to mark something that’s not easy to see on the minimap.
My idea is to give us flags that look similar to the exploration point flags but no one goes there of course. You could choose from 5 or so colors so you can color code them as you want, and they show up on the minimap. There would be no limit to the number of you can place.
While not the same as a flag marker, custom views can be used to store and retrieve locations you want to track.
Ctrl Alt + number sets a location
Alt + number takes you to that location
I’ve found it useful to jump to more distant spots such as remote mines.
It won’t mark a specific spot but does make it easy to quickly go to remote locations or areas you want to keep track of.
The downside is that the custom views are not saved in between game sessions.

It turns out they actually ARE saved between game sessions. This makes them even more useful. Thanks again for the info.
Well that’s interesting! I have used custom views for a few weeks now. Whenever I left the game, the next time I played I had to reset custom views.
However, after reading your post I tried it again and sure enough, the custom view was still there when I exited and came back on.
