Make it EXCITING, FUN and go CRAZY :D

Hi,

Big fan here of games like Anno / City Skylines / Planet Coaster/Age of Empires. After 24 hours of playing FF I’m getting bored. The game is missing challenge, meaning and especially fun! CS let me build amazing big cities with traffic/city complexity, Anno city building with trade & war, PC cool coasters & park management, AOF war & conquer. But FF, I’m not sure where you guys are heading to…do you?

I really hope you guys give way more focus to starting a REAL civilization in the wilderness instead of just copying the Anno series with basically the same needs/buildings only years and years behind.

Here are some thoughts for direction:

Make the game WAAAAY more exciting, cool and crazy

  1. Fire brigade > fires should be very spectaculair, especially with all the wooden buidlings and it spread very fast. If build to close together it could burn down the entire city. Also people get wounded after a fire, which impact production etc. and if no doctor they will die.
  2. City gaurds (police) & jails > I want to see lots of drunk people who love to fight after a long day work. People who steal food and luxery from their neighbours. People who hold illegeal horse races etc.
  3. Policy makers > without more chaos and unrest
  4. City cleaners > without the city gets a mess, more road accidents with horses/carts, people without shoes will get sick, people leaving etc
  5. Kill every wild animal > come on, we are in the wilderness. Act like it! Make campfires in the backyards of houses, see people slaughter a reindeer, see them trying to shoot birds, chasing rabbits
    etc. etc. etc.

Keep citizens Healthy else your civilization will starve or people leave

  1. Doctor > heales also work incidents if workers don’t use tools. I want to see people carrying injured people to the doctor. Walk out the doctor lame if not fully cured. With not enough doctors long waiting lines outside. And people will die sooner if the doctor is unexperienced.
  2. Dentist > without people can eat less and get weaker, lower productivity and die sooner. After the dentist I want to see people with a bandage around the head.
  3. Bath house > without more sickness, and ofcourse more fights because people stink or get banned from the city (see them leaving with a stick with their belongings
  4. Barber > without more change on fleas, people stop walking all the time to scratch their heads and backs, lower productivity.
  5. Midwives > without more miscairriges
  6. Rat catcher > without sickness spreads very fast. I want to see them walking aroud with a net trying to catch them
  7. Church/City Hall > without people do not marry and lower birthrate. Show big parties outside it there is a marriage. Production drops because people will attend the wedding.
  8. Public toilets > like in the old days, start with a wooden plank and see bunch of people sitting on it. Ofcourse nobody wants to live close to it. Advance it to wooden building
    etc. etc. etc.

Keep citizens Happy
1…
2…
and so on…and so on…

I really hope that you are going for the AWSOME city builder game with CRAZY and FUN events. And which is way more detailed then games like Anno 1800 that focus on production, trade, exploration and war. I can think so many more cool functionalites. Don’t you?

Rob

This is part of the game. You need soap and compost yards to maintain cleanliness. This will affect happiness and if people are too unhappy they will emigrate.

People without shoes are at higher risk to injury and contracting diseases like worms.

Kill every wild animal

You can see it with the deers, boars, bears. They’re currently the only hunting option, and managing hunters (amount, work areas) is a means of managing food income based on demand and spoilage.

Doctor

Healer’s hut and the upgrade to Hospital is basically this. The only direct work based injury is fractures from mines, but certain jobs expose villagers to risk and if they don’t have the right clothes or any shoes they could become sick, injured, sometimes fatally.

If people are injured but not immediately killed you will see a red health bar above their head that slowly depletes. Villagers will carry these people to the healer’s hut or hospital for treatment.

If you don’t have a healer’s hut or hospital and people get sick they are at risk of getting worse or dying if left untreated.

Rat catcher without sickness spreads very fast.

If you don’t have it and rats are present you’re likely to contract bubonic plague, and if left unmanaged it will spread through your village.

You’re not fully getting my point. None of the things you mention are clear, fun, interesting etc in the current game. There arn’t any intesting statistics on which you make descissions, there arn’t any interesting or fun animations, there arn’t any interesting events or complex situations etc. Just endless gathering food and producing by robitic people. It is way to boring.

In my opinion the basis of the game is not properly worked out. Unless they are really trying to be a less copy of Anno 1800 without competitors.

I really hope that they have the guts to create a more unique city management/builder game.

To each their own. I’m definitely seeing where you’re coming from, but at the same time, I’m 55+ hours in (would be more but…life) and far from bored. There’s always new challenges. I suppose in many ways it’s your point of view. I like the “nitty gritty,” the constant adjusting to new demands.

Have you tried playing on Vanquisher? Adversities like disease and raids get harder to deal with there. Also, zoom way in. The animations are cooler than appears from a distance. I was watching a raid battle the other day and holy mackerel did it get far more cinematic than I expected!

For me, there’s always new details to explore and new challenges to discover.

Also, try setting yourself a goal. Like a “no trade” run (apart from the necessary trading for heavy tools to build the foundry and blacksmith). Someone on here did a vegetarian run (sorry I forgot their name). Celebridian is researching how cows affect field fertility. This game is ultimately pretty geeky, imo. See what you can come up with.

Perhaps this that you suggest could be a separate level of play, so we don’t all have to deal with more stuff happening than we already feel fills our plates. Some people enjoy a more leisurely pace, and some enjoy the wild and crazy scenarios you, and I’m sure others, would like to see. A separate level of play for such a scenario would keep everyone happy.
