Those of you that encountered the fabled Crate of Entertainment in Grim Dawn know that these crates split in two when defeated, so plan on your new plushie companion to come with two smaller buddies!
it’s in the announcement section of steam forum (never gets posted in discussion), so it will be in the community hub news even if not the game news(i think?)
*Ceno also posted it on reddit i think
I don’t understand why the previous (failed) Byscilla, Matron of Rifts plush or the current “Crate of Entertainment” one weren’t posted about in the “Steam News” and/or “What’s New” sections on Steam. Anyone who has Grim Dawn installed who opens their Steam library would see the post right at the top in the “What’s New” section.
Back in April/May 2022, the first plush (“Gazer Man Jumbo”) was posted on Steam as noted above not once but several times. It was quite a success due to it meeting 216% of its funding goal, and 432 of them were made.
I’m pretty sure the C’thonian Devourer got the same treatment in or around February 2023. It was a huge success with 379% of the funding goal reached, and 758 being made.
If it hadn’t been for those posts, I wouldn’t have even known the Gazer Man Jumbo was being offered, nor would I have bought it. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who found out about either or both plushes through those Steam posts.
I know the game is now 2-1/2 years older and times change. That being said, I like to think it would help to post about this where the most people that are likely to fund it will see it.
I would certainly help in any way I can, and I’m sure many other Grim Dawn and plushie fans would too.
I do think the issue with the post seemingly abitrarily being moved to a far less visible section seems unreasonable and unfair to both Crate and Grim Dawn players.
Maybe if you as a developer sent a notice to Steam, it would carry more weight, especially if it was combined with a collective response of some kind from this beloved game’s community? It might impress upon Steam that this is hamstringing community engagement and your ability to do business on their platform related to your product.
I’m sure Crate as a dev and Grim Dawn’s community aren’t the only groups that have been affected by this practice.
