[Melee Aether] Warped Striker - Aether based Shadow Strike build

Decided to make this after after reading Ceno’s comment in my Fleshwarped Strikes thread. Also added Acid SS concepts.

FAQ -

Which is better between the Aether and Acid variant?

They’re not comparable at all, different playstyles, different strengths. I recommend both.

Which is better between the Deathguard Hunter and the Rift Scourge Slicer Hunter?

The Rift Scourge Hunter is my personal favorite because it is one of the few poison builds where I use Scorpion and Guardian’s Gaze. But DG is overall much better.

Why such an odd devotion setup for Deathguard variant?

I wanted to squeeze some defense in along with Harp for energy management. I’d say if you go all out on offense then energy problems and other issues become non-consequential. Offensively Affliction is a must have thanks to conversion through DG if you intend to go full offense.

Which is better between Reaper and Spellbreaker?

I am very used to Arcanist builds so I personally would lean towards Arcanist for purely QoL reasons. But as you can see the Reaper is overall the better build.

Would Star Pact do the Spellbreaker setup any good?

Not really, even though our major damage source is a Cooldown skill. We still can’t afford to loose out on all that flat damage which also empower Execution

Why not use full Krieg Set?

I don’t think Krieg set will be BiS in this case as it lacks plus skills to support the build. 2 pc Krieg seems strong enough, I didn’t test it though.

What about Deathguard Sigil and Mythical Deathbringer Raiment on Reaper?

These two things are good alternatives if you don’t have the Clairvoyant set. I
With that ring you can overcap Soul Harvest.
The chestpiece has Vitality to Aether conversion which is useful in converting the flat Vitality damage from Soul Harvest buff

Is the Conduit skill mod the only way to play this build?

It’s not the only way but it’s the best way as you without it you will loose valuable flat damage bonus to Shadow Strike. Till you get it, I’d recommend using Decree + Magelord Set or 2x Decree

Why Mindwarp?

More Resist shred and more aether damage. The weapon seems to be BiS. Even on the Reaper setup we go with this as it beats

What about Spellstalker’s Legwraps?

I didn’t test it with them but statwise they look inferior to Wraithborne Pants.

Credits to Superfluff as his build here is what gave me the idea to use the Clairvoyant set

These builds were surprisingly fun to play with. I enjoyed it, hope you guys do as well

another nice one, i wanted to try that conduit too on similiar idea
damn too much aether builds these days !
also, only one green item ? whathappened ? :stuck_out_tongue:

ps: why not ravager helm for extra rr ?

Very cool concept. Shame SS modifiers don’t work with Nightfall.
Also I like Void+Time dilation combo.

Thanks
I was shocked when I saw the build only had one MI at the end of testing:eek:

One extra click suits Spellbreaker but on Reaper it’d be major PITA. Oddly enough I have never managed to fit Ravager’s helm in any build

Thanks
Call it irony but I personally hate Hungering Void with a passion.

You’re so corrupted. Perhaps it’s time you moved to Aetherhold instead of floating in the void, fossil god? The whimsy locals might even help you with that!

Call it irony but I personally hate Hungering Void with a passion.

Mice against cheese, Chthon against Void.

Huh, look it’s Lok’tar :stuck_out_tongue:
FYI, orcs besides the great Ner’Zhul are trash. Kneel before the Lich King (whoops wrong forums )

Seriously, though the builds I’ll post soon are also Aether builds. A Chaos build will be posted after I am done vomiting Aether trash :stuck_out_tongue:

How dare you?!

The way orcs bleed is truly wondrous!

When the orc bleeds just about right

I believe Lokarr is Chthon’s clone until proven otherwise.

I believe someone’s getting two extra kubas on wave 160 this week :furious:

Doubt I would have been able to reach this ridiculous post count if I maintained alts :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s exactly what someone with alts would say.

Ha!

Well, why suspect Lokarr of all the names out there?

Chthon, Lokarr…nah, no pattern here.

Yup no pattern at all

Hi Chthon!

Cool build. It reminded me my concept of 2h SB build based on aether strikes. Did you try to use 3 aether strikes instead of only SS? Maybe something like this: https://www.grimtools.com/calc/4ZDW4JwV?

Hi everyone, im new to the game and im have some noob problems.

Which constelations should i pick up first, and second, on the Reaper link, you got the “Phanter” constelation, but when im using the Grimtools to simulate my Devotion leveling i couldnt get that one.

And last but not least, im sorry about my poor English, its not my mother language.

TY all

Tried it before AoM and posted a guide here. That playstyle wasn’t my thing
But if you like that then go for it

The spirit guide can remove points assigned to devotions
The spirit guide in your starting town - Devil’s Crossing is named Sahdina/Sadhina

Your english is fine, I don’t see any reason to apologize. Most of us aren’t native speakers either
