Probably the worst change of this patch tbh. Really sad that whole damn thread about it was simply ignored and this change was pushed live anyway. I spend more time leveling chars than actually playing them after reaching lvl 94, and now I have to mod the game to undo this change so content I enjoy playing the most is playable? Well done, well done.
I don´t see what is the problem. If you are level 100 of course you want level 94 items. And if you are levelling lower level item still drops according to your level.
But still always 5+ levels above player level so you can never drop some mi and equip it for immediate upgrade. Because for, say, lvl 45 boss game will always pick lvl 55 mi over lvl 40 one, instead of being 50/50 (roughly speaking).
Then you will wait a few levels till you can. Big deal! Getting level 84 item at level 100 is far worse.
Most ppl donât so overall a good change
That is what I think, and I do a lot of SSF levelling.
Is it really? Itâs not that bad, you can just farm another. And itâs not like a level 84 item is unusable.
I believe itâs often more than a few. If it is indeed just a few (<5) then itâs not that bad.
The thing is that at that level you probably want quite specific affixes, and itâs demoralising to get them on a level 84 item after hours of farming.
canât believe the the ones arguing this are the ones that already saw the discussion in PTR forum
It was all laid out then ![]()
Fewer people make it to endgame than people that level, this will affect more people then. The people that play endgame will individually spend more hours there, itâs not the same as âmost peopleâ.
Itâs not just a few levels, it can be quite a lot, the biggest disparity i had was over 20 levels(extra affix lvl increase).
And itâs not just âwait a lilâ, it can be anywhere from a couple âminutesâ in act 1, to waiting 3hours later/midgame, with no alternate option because you cannot refarm the item now/force it to drop closer to your level once it happens.
But worst of all, itâs a change made for endgame, that had entirely separate fixes available, that did not need to impact lvl 1-84⌠- and has been outright requested to have the opposite happen for that level range before v1.3 was even on the books, because some people already didnât like future drops when it was 50/50.
You handful of folks already saw these points/posts during PTR, not quite sure why itâs being rehash ignored now/here as if that debate is new ![]()
Devs decided against it in the end for their own reasons/in their design wisdom, thatâs all.
Sure, it can be if you get unlucky. But that seems less bad than always getting an item you canât use. It can be quite demoralizing to get items you canât use, especially if they drop with a nice affix ![]()
Have to agree to differ on this.
Anyway, hope you get good drops today.
yet
10chars
itâs not âalwaysâ
The difference is now you need a âspreadsheetâ with area/boss level and MI tables if you donât want to âRNGâ pace into a certain MI being the higher level version.
I had an encounter where i accidentally reached a boss at the worst possible lvl, ensuring over a +10 lvl disparity. Had i just happened to be 1-2 levels lower iâd have gotten the appropriate one, which coincidentally happened to another boss âmomentsâ prior as i hadnât gotten that extra xp yet.
Now you just canât counter that by refarming, and you need to either rush MIs or make level/table encounter list if you dontâ want the future drops exclusively.
TLDR itâs technically possible to mitigate, but itâs a hassle and takes you out of the process/ânot naturalâ need to play by checklist, to alleviate something you didnât before.
i see neither condescension nor âdonât pretend X is happening/X isnât happeningâ
They just disagree on the significance or importance of it, likely because they either dontâ care about the aspect on the lower end or donât utilize it the same/isnât impacted the same. So the tradeoff is then ok in that view/the downside is less to that.
Idea: If this change works only from level 94 (or on monsters from level 95, since they are usually higher level than the player), there should be no problem and you would have the best of both worlds.
was suggested during ptr, devs had their own reasons to implement it otherwise/it didntâ make it into live version
âwe donât always get what you wantâ out of things ![]()
I donât know if this is true? Hours played 1 year after expansion comes out this might turn out to be true, hours played 1 month after expansion comes out I would expect a lot of new players still enjoying the leveling part of the game with or without different characters rather than doing endgame all the time, which might make this false. Which is why I donât understand how you can say it so confidently
Gnomish, if thatâs the case can you share what they said their reasons were?
I read the OP three times in a row, then I read the entire thread, then went back to read OP two more times and still have no clue what yâall are talking about.
Pardon me, been reading all the new lore notes whole evening.
Whatâs the hussle about?
So True!!! Especially when itâs an item you already have, the stats are lower too, the monster that dropped it was a âBâ to fight, and you died (maybe more than once) to boot. Yeah, thatâs a sloppy slap to the face. Just to think that drop took the place of a potential level 94 item. WOMP WOMP! Then again, Thatâs RNGzus for you. Of course, getting that GG level 94 upgrade item moar than makes up for that slop. 1,000% moar. RAWR! Thatâs what makes these games so much fun.
