Zantai, would it be possible to get something like the mini-map showing before you place down the town centre when starting a new town? Would help to know how near or otherwise you are to the edge of a map. This one I decided to build the town north, but if I’d seen where it was on a mini-map before I might have decided to build south instead.
Yeah it would be really great to be able to see the mini map before TC placement!
(That said, I kinda see why we can’t, as it kind of adds to the mystery of setting out into the unknown frontier - but honestly it would just be nice to be able to see it right away 
)
Looking around before placement doesn’t need a minimap but where you place your town centre at the beginning should always be the centre of the map.
