MIs should always drop below player level

On my recent Ult play through I got really annoyed that I can’t use any MIs that drop. I get to Gollus or Ungoliax at around level 55, and they drop level 70 items. I want to use them now!

I think down scaling MIs to player level would fix that problem without breaking anything else. If you want a 94 MI, just level up to 94. What do you all think about this?

I wouldn’t like to see that. I like to be able to farm items when I’m slightly below the level where they will become useable. Eg, I may want to farm level 60 Solael-Sect pants when I’m level 58 and about to start Ultimate. By the time I’ve done the first couple of Ultimate quests they’ll be wearable.

Also, in the end, it’s level 94 MIs that matter most and it’s helpful that they start dropping earlier. Indeed, if I could make any change here it would be that you always get the higher level MI if you’re within a few levels of the required level. (There’s the separate issue of getting level 92 MIs at level 100, but let’s not get into that.)

In my case, when I reach Solael’s Bird, I’m gonna get pants that I can’t use for 15 levels. I would really like that Aether res for the Conflagration, but I’m not gonna be level 70 until Logh. I think that sucks.

solael pants exists in lvl 30 and 60, there is no 55 version, and at certain level intervals you’re just dealing with a 50/50 split, since you might not want the lvl 60 version if you’re closer to 75, say 68-70,
for some very hyper specific brackets there’s even a brief moment where one can find 3 cross levels of a 75-84-94 mi

You might be misjudging how close the base MIs actually are to your level range/the level drops boss has because affixes changes their levels to appear more inbetween than it might actually be sometimes (funnily enough most notable with hidden path legs because 30lvl difference on first two versions)

I assume you used a merit to unlock Ultimate, so you can switch to Normal or Elite and do a few quick farming runs there. Dunno about Ungoliax but Gollus will be around level 60 when your character is level 55. His ring will be level 60 as well so you don’t have to wait that long to wear it.

The alternative is to create a new char, read the merit, and farm a few level 20 MIs that you can then pass on to your main char. But I guess you’re playing SSF so that’s probably not an option.

Ah, my beloved Mogara:

Drops 70, 84 and 94 Fangs at monster level 89-95. In a 25%, 33.33% and 41.67% split of course

I will never not be amazed by Mogara and her mysteries.

try set benji to level 79-84 too
