While in the waiting room for the Patch 1.3 to arrive (so I can update D3 mod), I’ve been working in a new non-diablo class, bringing more fanmade lore to the official storyline. Though, I feel more free to add anything to the official lore this time, since this new mastery goes beyond the limits of time-space. They weren’t, they won’t, they just are.
Based on the first projects I’ve seen on this forum, which btw ignited my interest for GD modding, this new mastery is a ‘spiritual continuation’ of this Mesmer mastery mod.
Fangs of Asterkarn is the perfect scenario for the creation of a Chronomancer, with the new feature that this DLC brings, allowing a skill to reduce the cooldown of other skills, and this interaction between abilities fits very well the theme of this mastery.
Devoters of Aeon and Azrakaa, the Chronomancers are guardians of time and fate, carrying the duty to enforce the will of the celestial timekeepers in the mortal realm. Through magic wells and cosmic spells, they manipulate the elemental structures of space-time, the energy of the aether, and even the tainted power of the void, maintaining order and chaos in proper harmony. These sorcerers keep their doings in secret, because they know how humans are obsessed with the belief of their free will, and destroying their fantasy of lifetime choices could cause endless consequences for the timelines. As result, they shape a reality that has been in constant equilibrium, where nobody knows who the responsibles are for keeping all existance in perfect balance.
I’ll progress this work with no rush, since FoA has no ETA yet. But, here is a sneak peak of Well of Gravity and Well of Time, inspired by classic skills of the GW2 Chronomancer:
