Yes, DPS is my main issue, that’s why I currently try to find +skills gear or else I get stuck at every single miniboss for while.
Did you just progress through the acts without replaying zones or did you grind for levels? I’m at Andariel and still only 71, so I don’t think I’d be anywhere near your level when I finish the game. What level were you when you beat Hell difficulty? I don’t full-clear zones because that would take forever but I always try to stop for bigger packs.
Just do as many cow-IeveIs as you can. they give a Iot of xp even IvI 75+. And you need IvI 94 anyways to equip mythicaI cIass sets, which are by far “best in sIot”.
I just got 5 keys so far and I feel like I will need them later. Level 94 or mythical gear isn’t even something I’m thinking about, not sure I’ll have the motivation to keep going that far. I’ll probably settle for some runewords gear instead, as soon as I found the few missing ones.
This heavy item-gating is one thing that I never liked about Grim Dawn, I think that Path of Exile for example handles that better. They have super-rare drops (way beyond what GD has), but you can have an almost fully equipped char at level 80. There is also less repetition, this whole normal>empowered>mythical concept doesn’t hide the fact that it’s pretty much still the same piece of gear. But I don’t want to start a rant again, it’s just something I compare all the time because I play both games extensively.
I haven’t played Grim Dawn endgame to comment on that. I got one character to level 95 or so?
As far as what level I was to finish Act 5 without having done any endgame at all? Around 80-85? I no longer remember exactly. I did a normal grind farming all the good areas I could find. I did ONE cow level, which was fun, but I also only had about 4 or 5 keys. I may do them soon for the fun of it, if I don’t want kill more bosses and am burned out with that. I have 2 more uber Tristram’s to do. It doesn’t disappoint, LOL.
nightmare zeal paladin/oathkeeper with good gear can face tank bosses and world bosses but these guys complete destroy me, not only deal almost one shot damage I cant leech and the reflect aura insta kills me. A bit too unfair for melee in my opinion.
This is a new monster infrequent which has one of the new custom D2-RoT prefixes. In this case, the Corrupted Kurast Stone can be dropped by any of the high council heroes in Travincal or next to mephisto.
There are a number of special Super Unique monsters that drop these new Monster Infrequents.
For your build specifically, farm also Lord De Seis (Chaos sanctuary), his medal is a beast for magic users, as well as Izuals Chest armor.
Monsters scale with player level in GD, here they don’t so you’ll be either under-or overleveled. Being underleveled isn’t much of a problem as long as you can kill them (you were likely underleveled in diablo 2 as well but monsters didn’t show their monsterlevel so you simply had no way of knowing unless you’d look up the monster levels).
If you focus on the better uniques and runewords, you can have a strong char without any of those mythical sets.
The empowered/mythical feels a bit lame, I agree. But it is an easy way to have certain themed items which already work and people can keep using with a newer version (and it’s a lot easier to add in items that way as you won’t have to think of completely new stuff, with a similar theme to fit the builds they’re aimed at).
Reflect works for ranged/spells/melee, not just on melee. As I’ve mentioned multiple times, the reflect will be lowered to around 3-5% versus the current 15%. It’s also not that hard to get resistances against reflected damage with devotions. As Oathkeeper you have one of the few, if not the only GD class, with permanent reflected damage resistance.
taking a closer look the huge magic/light/phys damage I take is mostly due to decrepify and lower resist they constantly drop on you and my resist are not overcapped enough(33 magic resist lol and 23 phys for -25) so thats my fault. I still think reflect plus no leech is worse for melee since you have to take their damage plus the reflect and put the curses on top, but since the reflect will be nerfed we will have to see.
As for reflect resist when you do so much damage I dont think the resist modifiers do enough to matter.
the patch 0.6.5.3 destroyed the complete balance, it cannot be that my pets in elite with 1580% damage need 3 minutes for white mobs,
the smallest mobs heal themselves high what’s that? patch 0.6.3.0 has the best balance, make the monsters 20% stronger and the game is playable again
If you want a comparison with a character that can do any and all endgame content, here’s the stats for my necromancer/druid:
+1900 damage%, 1/4th of which comes from skills, the rest from devotion and items.
+220 attack speed.
This doesn’t count specific bonuses for say skeletons and other summons.
Act 4 is still hard but I faceroll all endgame content not counting the bosses themselves. Act 5 is easier as there’s alot of spawns but the heal isn’t as intense except from elite packs (I guess Grim Dawn calls them hero packs or something).
EDIT, I have close to 30 minions by the way and do not rely upon direct damage but can use a buff spell tied to a devotion skill if I want, it just uses alot of mana.
Thank you very much for that, that list is very helpful. I found out about these during my first few unsuccessful diablo runs. I got a +190% magic damage amulet from De Seis and after several more tries the Grandvizier dropped the helmet with a +2 Blessed Hammer prefix. That helped a lot with my lacking damage.
Regarding not being underleveled in the base game, you’re right that GD’s content scales with your char to an extent. I meant that I never had it happen that I entered Ultimate and was all of a sudden 8-10 levels below the minimum zone range. Which was the case when I got from Nightmare to Hell mode.
D2ModPlayer i’m in act 4 all white mobs are shit right at the beginning there are hordes of white mobs who heal themselves and need 3 minutes until they die and that in elite is that the point?
When I say act 4, I actually mean Diablo runs, the other content is easier. The heal only delays their death for about 6 seconds and then they instantly die. I have no endgame gear except the stuff that automatically drops from endgame content for ALL players. Standard level 60+ set with +4 all skills. + all skills in general, however, total, it’s much higher.
Nothing is stopping you from downgrading a patch. Plenty people have reported having 0 issues (of course its partially build related), with pet builds as well. And it’s only the first major step of balancing out the campaing. It wont ever be as easy as 0.6.3.0 as that was not balanced at all, that was simply easy.
D2ModPlayer haben wir unterschiedliche versionen des spiels? es kommt mir so vor? meine pets in patch 0.6.3.1 killed in elite all white pets in 1 second in patch 0.6.5.3 in 2 minutes
translation: D2ModPlayer do we have different versions of the game? it seems like that to me
No, I’m using the latest version of the game. My Necromancer is from a previous patch and I had issues in Hell as my character was basically naked since the previous version was much easier (from 6 months to 12 months ago?) and I had to replace and buff all my items. When I first entered Hell I was underleveled and took awhile for white mobs. Over time as I intensely farmed I gained runes that give MASSIVE power increases before I even had a set and could then begin to progress through the story line.
The unique monster guarding the entrance to crystalline passage hit me for 13-14k phys damage with 23% phys res and 2100 armor I doubt thats something anyone can take without some insane phys res in nightmare, atleast is a easly skippable hero.
To get adequate responses from the dev team, I suggest posting in English. 0.6.3.0 was posted, as were all the other patches before, as they had updates and new content etc, compared to the patches before. Campaign difficulty has simply not been adressed before 0.6.5.3, as Ram stated above.
Seems like you are lacking damage. Older patches you could simply rely on a lot of Crushing blow (% reduced targets health) from a big army of pets. That has now been removed so it’s the damage of the pets thats important, not just crushing blow. Cheapest way to boost pet damage: use 2x shael rune and 2x sol runes or something like it.
