also i had the only ctd in underground passsage.from what I remember when loading the next level / output

I said the game hard crashed, not the system. Sorry for the confusion. I mentioned the same crashes again as another player had crashes in the same place. My system never hard crashed.

Meaning, crash to the desktop. As opposed to when I was going for the chest against a world boss and the graphics went black instead of totally crashing.

K. Generally hard crashes are only ever used to describe a full system lockup. Never to indicate a CTD.

How i know it’s not on a hardware level is i am a technician and if it was a hardware issue then the standalone would not have worked either.I will test it future.It may just be that it’s something in underground passage that it didn’t like.

I ran it on the standalone version so will update it again and see what happens.Funny thing is it gives a C++ retro error.But it’s from the game side not from the software side.Lets see what happens when i update it.I will keep you posted :D.If it’s just the one level then not gonna stress about it

The good news is you don’t need to be a technician to know that a CTD is highly unlikely to be hardware related

You should perhaps toss up a screenshot of the actual error next time it triggers.
Edit: I was scrolling back re-reading stuff and I see that you did post a screenshot earlier Sadly it looks like it spit an ultra-generic error at you tho.

You could try uninstalling all your C++ redists and then reinstalling them to see if that helps (and perhaps rebooting after). Fortunately C++ redists uninstall and install super quick.

Had never heard of a CTD but I know a fair amount myself about systems. But yes, that’d be a correct term. I did indicate on the previous crashes I’d not yet restarted my system, which would be a give if the OS crashed. I currently maintain and built two different systems. I watch hardware videos as a hobby. I talked about maintenance before because I lack confidence in this new system.

Is it? Website is still down for me. Part of it is available through an archived version. A new one might be made soon, will see how that goes soon enough I guess.

Ram gave a link a little up that worked.Ah yes it’s an archive but it’s good enough for me.I just look up the mercs.I like to do the questing/exploring myself

I was looking in a thread, I was looking for anything on the forum, I found nothing, a terrible search engine. I can’t see armor on the boot screen, only chest invisible , everything else can be seen, any idea? sorry if this is an obvious question. it was like that from the beginning, but I didn’t care.

thanks powbam , I typed, but from what I can see this engine only finds single words. I saw this mess in the results and wasn’t looking.

Personally, I think Discourse’s search is very good - and miles beyond the old vBulletin forum’s search. I tried to find you some guides on using Discourses search but sadly I haven’t found very much on the topic yet.

ok, I return the honor I already know what’s going on - I use a browser add-on that sets the black mode on all pages, and I can’t see these colored highlights, so it seems unreadable to me lol. Thanks for your help, It will be helpful not only here.

I will play this when all GD elements are removed or is available as a separate option for all GD elements removed.

I don’t know if that will change or not. Guess it depends on what the D2 remake is really like.

hmmm on the one hand, it makes sense for hardcore gamers, on the other hand, items from gd give are a million more selections to play.

If I wanted to play GD I would play GD. If I wanted to play D2 in GDs engine then I would. If I wanted a hybrid I would choose that. A separate install would be awesome IMO. Just hoping it comes one day. I’ve been avoiding this mod because I was hoping the GD content would get removed since that was a rumor.

This is HUGE work because it requires convert everything from scratch, all items without additions from gd will be far too weak.I don’t know if it’s feasible for one person.

All you need to do is ignore GD classes, as the D2 classes are made to survive equally well without them.

That it dilutes the item pool is no excuse, as if there were less items and less classes, the drop rates would probably be adjusted for that anyway, and your item quality would be the same.

I played Grimarillion along time before playing any class but the basic GD ones, I still think that mod is fantastic. I just happen to like the combined mods to better my experience and options. I am happy if another is happy, if GD classes are allowed in this mod, as I know it wouldn’t detract from my experience.

PS. I am choosing Shaman as my second class, my first GD class selection. It doesn’t bother me in the slightest. It is merely a defensive support role until I max the high level skill after maxing mastery points on both classes. It is merely another option to boost elemental damage, in an interesting way that wouldn’t be supported if GD classes were removed. And otherwise, besides extra health and health regen, it’s still a sorceress isn’t it?

I have no problem if another person chooses a GD class, because I know it won’t impede on my own way of playing, so I am happy they are happy.

I am also happy if a purist chooses only D2 classes and does that. I’m more in line with that way of thinking, but I am still ok with GD content. In many ways GD is a better game than D2, seeing how it was made 20 years later and the ARPG genre has evolved since then… Thematically I like Diablo more still.
