[Mod] Reign of Terror

Unless a dev joins the team that wants this as well, I dont think it’ll happen. So you either get this hybrid GD+D2+D1, or the D2 do-over.

Any RoT specific item is invisible on the main menu. Only GD items are shown.

Additionally, your classes will not show up the first time you start the game as well, and neither do the difficulties load in properly (they’re still elite/ultimate). Only after you actually make a RoT game and then go back to the menu, it has loaded these modded things.

I have some quest items, book, brain, but no related quest ?
For the fungal tome where is Adria ?
I am at level 10 but can’t find level 11 entrance
Please help

Not to beat around the bush but…you expect Ram and his team to build the mod the way YOU want it.I am also against the gd classes But…it gives a more diverse play style than diablo 2.Diablo2 is general is boring median xl is not.If you want diablo play the new remake which btw are the same game as the old d2…

Waiting for help about adia and level 11 entrance I run a goblin level.
What a stupid idea to create a one-shot boss inside take me 13 deaths to kill him and restart at the beginning of my level 58 and he is only 55 !!!
it looks like I play stupid games as DIII. I am very disappointed with that act 6.
We don’t know where we go and for what !!

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, however sharing it can be also done in a constructive way.
I just wonder why do you play these “stupid” games when nobody forces you to do so.

And if you’re looking for answers about A6 then https://diablo-archive.fandom.com/wiki/Quests_(Diablo_I) has everything you need to know.

I found Adria in Tristram at least well hidden below the cows.
In my opinion one shot monster is a really stupid thing whatever the game even my favourite as titan quest and its mods or sacred gold and GD and ROT are the last best game I play, your job is impressive and as an ancient modder I am full of admiration.
Well Idon’t find the level 11 entrance but I am going to try your link.
Thank you and sorry for my english which is very bas and rather abrupt, in french it will be more moderate and explicative.
Thanks again for all.
Note : I played D I for years

There are 4 potential entrances to level 11 from level 10 and only 1 of them gets randomly spawned per game session so you need to explore the whole map in order to find it. If you’ve done so and still cannot find it then make a new game session and look for it again. There hasn’t been any report about level 11 entrance not spawning so they should function normally.

Doesn’t look like it

OT:latest news-Diablo 2 Resurrected: Blizzard is against D2ROffline and D2RModding mods. bye bye d2r this game will be a mistake .

I’ve said from the beginning that any remake of D2 would just put it in line with Diablo 3 being online only (only the PC version still is 9 YEARS later). Activision decided to take the cheap way out with D2:R and just making it a 3D overlay on top of the original game. They could have used this to redo the game from the ground up, maybe implement the features that were cut from the original game, add all the QoL that ARPG’s have seen over the past 20 years, made the skill trees and gear better and more engaging.

Of course they’re against modding. D2 modding tools are for version 1.12 and older, D2:R is based on 1.14d (or whatever the latest version is). By doing that they get rid of 20 years of modding tools and even mods.

Anybody know if there’s some file I can transfer from one char to another to restore the waypoint portals? Used GD Defiler for some reason and forgot that using it removes all the portals you had open.

Modding/adjusting a closed alpha test will get you this. They’ll probably be fine with the type of modding that has been done already for years, once it’s officially out.

Yes, you can get the maps file from another character and put them in your char that is missing them.

I say it too - if there was no ROT you could buy it on a big d2r discount. there is ROT- buying this **** doesn’t make sense. the old blizzard is gone, you have to accept it.

I believe Fuzzy is correct. Last I checked D2:R team said modding can be done, just no hacking. They’ve even rearranged things so more stuff CAN be changed for modding. True, it supports NO older mods. It would be a whole new ball game. Online registration only, then the game can be played offline if chosen.

And I agree that keeping more GD content in this mod and adding features D2:R never had, it solidifies it as something the gaming community truly needs and wants.

The cheap way? You do of course realize, right, that Blizzard lost the source code for the game long ago? If they “rebuilt” D2, well then… It wouldn’t be D2 then now would it?

This is the real reason why it’s an “overlay”. Because it’s the only option.

do not make me laugh  it is impossible and probably nobody serious believed in this fairy tale. no serious company would lose the source code.

Try not to choke while you laugh then…

Of course I know this message, and I don’t believe a word of it. This is not possible  I don’t know why they sent such a message out into the world.

Ok. You can keep living in the reality that you make up for yourself then where you believe there is any point at all in them bothering with such a lie.

Anyway, this is the reason why the remake is done in the fashion it is done in.

But… after some more digging… it seems that leading up to them making the remake they were able to cobble together a good bit of the remaining source code and even a lot of the assets - however Vicarious Visions claimed that the assets weren’t as important as was originally thought since they remade a lot of it themselves.

As for Goobers theory that they should have completely rebuilt the game - I stand by my original assertion that that would be a horrible idea for a remake. Most people want the same game, just updated visually, primarily. Rebuilding from the ground up is exactly how you ensure you don’t get “the same game”.

If they were to have done that, you would have only ended up with millions of very pissed off people.

I privately I make at least two copies of important documents and projects. I even backup to the cloud every day. I will not believe that a serious company, serious people did not have several dozen copies of the source code, the more so because it probably takes several hundred megs.
ok end ot, I don’t want any quarrel cheers mate
