Are there any mods to completely remove experience gain or any ways outside of mods to adjust exp gain to virtually zero? I tend to play with my partner but I want to be able to farm rep and grind items for her build, since I currently have more free time than her, without having to worry about outleveling her.
I’ve seen a couple of older mods, one being “Slower Leveling” on nexus, but they appear to be outdated and no longer work. I’ve also seen a few newer requests for a mod like this but it didn’t look like there was anything up to date.
I know GDStash is an option but I prefer not to use it and I’d really like to just set the exp to zero when I play by myself if possible.
iirc last when someone mentioned slower level gain, and turned out a simple modification was just using Malmouth XP potion with negative gain, which if so could easily be paired with basemod approach for simple on/off flipping as desired
yep i just did a quick test with leo ring, -100% does work, tho it reduces xp gain to tiny flat 1 per source it seems instead of fully 0, tho probably plenty enough
@Anarsin can use this as basemod trick if you wish database.zip (4.8 KB) - equip Leovinus ring for -100% xp
*just remember to remove the /basemod command/use the unmodified shortcut when you want to play normally
Thank you for the reply! I’m a bit ignorant of modding in this game since we only started playing recently. So basically that “database” mod would go into the GD mod folder, and for the basemod trick I make a shortcut that I attach “/basemods” onto the end of the file path and then launch the new shortcut to have the -100% exp version of the ring? And then when I want to play with my partner I simply launch the game from the normal launcher?
Yep that’s it,
*just the standalone database.arz file tho, not as a the database folder itself
(and you know the shortcut is working proper, as steam pops up with a disclaimer you’re trying to run a game with launch commands)
Leo ring is 100% drop once on each difficulty from the vase in FG
If you simply don’t want to level up anymore, try this. It only prevents your character from leveling up; removing this MOD will restore the ability to level up. (It won’t affect your current character’s level, it just prevents further leveling up.)
