Im going for a new play thru and i built a barn… its been about 4 years and 10 vendors and none sold a animal so i could put into my barn… annoying 
Or give us new ways to aquire animals… tamming wild board, comes to mind, as an example…

You can go for years without any cows for sale. And after nerfing deer hunting it’s harder getting started in this game than it should be.
Been noticing that 
tho now I got now 8 cows, so hopefully now they sustain and i can build new barn soon and buy couple more sooner or later… i do need to have an barn already built and that as space for the cows, in order to buy them right ? Or can i buy them and keep them at the trade post until i build a barn ?
No, you cannot keep them in the box at DHL, waiting for them to be deliveredable… As soon as you get out of the trading post menu, you will be asked in wich of your barns you want them.
But you are pointing something: anticipate when low work and ressources avaible, the build of a a future buidind, eventhough you keep it closed and empty until you can use it !
Yea you need an empty barn, because if you place them at a full, the extras will immediately be slaughtered for their meat!
raider logic: go straight for the marketplace in the middle of town - to steal 3 pottery (worth 50g)
not raider logic: grabbing the 10 cows on the outskirts of town (worth 6kg)

Thank you for confirming this . thats what i done the first time… built barn and closed it for over 20 years almost , until finaly a trader came about and had some cows. 
I was hopeing they could stay at the trade post, until i built the new barn… but its ok
