As far as I can see there is no way of telling if you are using all your available slots in your production buildings other than selecting the building and looking at it, provided you have not enabled all work slots.
A suggestion would be to indicate available not used slots in the professions form. For exapmle with the smithie (see screen shot) the number could say (6)/10/10 instead of just 10/10 as it does now, where the 6 in parenthesis indicates that there are available slots that are unused.
(If the slots are not activated, the yellow indicator of available slots does not appear it seems. An alternative solution could be to use the yellow indicator from the start, regardless of how many slots have been activated)
