Playing idyllic valley with high resources on medium map, and I’ve searched the entire map with no gold mines. Everything else is present and plentiful. Traders not selling gold ore as well. Love the game though please keep the updates coming!
I have the same issue. Everything except gold is there. Millions of iron, but no gold.
You sure there’s no gold hiding amongst the iron? I’ve got an iron mountain on my Idyllic map with literally dozens of iron deposits - and one lone gold one. Haven’t explored the rest of the map yet so may be more gold somewhere out in the fog of war areas.
Gold ore is simply used to make additional money, so it’s not exactly an essential resource.
Traders do not sell gold ore, no.
Wouldn’t it be nice to use the gold ore to build a golden statue for honering some hard work? Let the population adore a golden Crate Statue.
Or the tier 5 buildings might use some gold ore?
On the moment, it’s just an additional income.
I tried Idyllic Valley (0.7.5f). I ended up – after some exploration all around – with several clay deposits, two sand deposits, one coal deposit, and no gold and no iron. Sure, you can get by with no gold deposits after you get 2 or 3 markets and a trading post, but that takes at least 3 years to accomplish. But the game cannot progress beyond T2 with no iron. I went back to Lowland Lakes; found iron, no problem.
