Is this normal with this game? Nerfs across the board when it comes to the new content, buffs to an obscene amount of things, barely any nerfs to player based items/skills, the strongest mastery aka inquisitor barely touched with things like seal and deadly aim staying the way they are?
I know the game is not competitive in any way but damn, is it normal to constantly see barely any nerfs and a ton of buffs? Seems like an even easier walk through ultimate AoM now…
there were several patches that nerfed key ingredients of overperforming builds in the past. shadow strike was nerfed quite a bit for example. or that one update that tuned both the damage and defense of weapon&shield solder builds down.
guess it’s a bit too early for such adjustments. it’s the first update after the release and they had to fix some stuff that didn’t work and had to tone down some overtuned AoM stuff a bit.
not seeing why they’d nerf inquisitor seal, tbh. it’s one of the defining skills of the inquisitor. deadly aim is strong, no doubt. not sure if it’s overpowered, though. it’s more of a “win more” buff anyway. it’s great when you have enough damage output to kill most stuff within the 5s uptime, but in longer engagements you also get into the 5s cooldown period where it doesn’t do anything.
if we see more and more builds spring up that only pick inquisitor to get deadly aim and seal, those skills might be toned down in a later update, but so far i don’t think inquisitor is all that OP. i’ve played a few builds with inquisitor and they don’t really stand out.
AoM was not a walk through the park. Sure it can be done and great gear helps a lot, but if you try to make it all the way through without farming, it is not exactly easy
You have one build using inquisitor that you have posted here and it’s a DoT based build and that alone makes you think Inquisitor is the strongest mastery?
I’d argue very few build types share the same QoL as DoT builds
There are other non-DoT based inquisitors I suggest you try them before labeling it as the strongest mastery
And you keep saying content got nerfed but player related stuff were untouched. I suggest you try the content with DW or 2h non DoT build and then come back give a feedback. This patch things might be smoother but in previous patch you could feel the hits pretty hard on some builds
Myopic view of the content is rarely taken into account when balancing is done. You play a non-cheese build and then maybe you’ll be able to understand what people were complaining about and why things got buffed and nerfed the way they did this patch
It’s quite funny that people cite Seal as an OP thing. It’s most effective against trash mobs and weak shotguns while does very little about stuff that could oneshot you. A simple yellow skeletal gargantuan once removed 7k of my hp on this week’s occasion, did extra 230 absorbtion helped me much? Honestly if not %health regen and ele resist overcap I would had dropped it by now on my Tactician.
Same thing with Deadly Aim - it’s technically very good, but since it requires a crit to activate it might end up having 3-5% chance to proc if there are no trash mobs, which would reduce it’s uptime. And even in perfect situation it’s only slighly better than inner focus + arcane balance.
That’s the deal with these two skills - they are of biggest benefit when you are already doing fairly well.
Inquisitor, the strongest mastery? Did Soldier disappear or what? Because last i checked, Soldier is the best mastery in the game.
You made a DoT build and assume right away that Inquisitor is the best mastery. And also thinking AoM Ultimate is easy because you play with a build that doesn’t need you to be near the target to deal constant damage, and then you complain Iron Maiden is impossible.
Aren’t you the one that was complaining that you couldn’t beat Challenger and Gladiator Crucible?
The game was considered overtuned from the start. They probably did that on purpose, so they didn’t have to nerf players. Most people are a lot happier with buffs, rather than nerfs.
I would certainly agree with this. Soldier is so good, that a lot of people find it hard to use. They have so many great abilities that you are forced to leave great skills unused in every build.
Uh, what? Inquisitor is easily the weakest mastery right now. Nobody picks it up except for it’s passives, some of which aren’t as good as they could be.
Inquisitor has been underwhelming in my experience.
I focused Inquisitor as my main damage source for my Purifier, got her to elite and feeling like a glass cannon. Sure I focused mainly offensively for now, but no way does she feel stronger than some of my other builds.
Inquisitor isn’t squishy when built right but it is far from the strongest mastery
The only problem I have with Inquisitor is Aura of Censure. It’s underwhelming for an exclusive skill on most builds when compared to the perfect defensive/offensive bonuses of Aura of Conviction
