Official Grim Dawn Kickstarter Thread

unless we get a major funding spike, I don’t think $180 in 4 days is realistic sadly, would have been good if we could get it there, but I don’t see it happening

nothing is impossible on kickstarter, I have high hopes for this.
more frequent updates are also the key to more funding!

I just got out of bed (morning in Australia) and see it’s now at $135k, and there’s been another $1k+ backer.

hopefully a couple of 8k backers by the end of the night also:D

I just finish my night shift work and heading back to get some sleep,
hope to see the fund will be keep raising and more backers!

I’ll be pretty to have broken 50% by the end of the weekend and that seems fairly likely atm.

If it keeps the pace of the last 24 hours it should finish around 500.000. Should be plenty extra to get a nice wig for Medierra. I noticed a bit of a hair fetish going on there.

It’s interesting to follow though, I’d think that the first and last days are the most active as that makes most sense to me, but I’ve never followed anything on Kickstarter before.

I don’t want it unless its powdered

After playing more Titan Quest than what’s still healthy, it’s about time I support you guys. Well, it’s another 50 bucks, not much, but I really hope this thing makes it to its goal. I guess it’s looking really good so far with 135 grand!?

I shared this project on FB and will post it in the forums I am active in as well as on my blog. If I can get you just ONE more backer it’s a success already.

Indeed it is and we greatly appreciate the effort! Thank you for supporting us!

Yo medierra since you are around atm. Why didnt you upload the kickstarter-video to the crate-youtube channel? I mean you have a youtubechannel where one video has 200k views and you dont promote your kickstarter there.^^

Don’t worry, you’re already pretty!

Oof, good idea! Uploading right now.

Yeah sometimes you just cant see the trees…and forest…and whatever…I suck with thins kind of stuff…

Wow, Banner Saga made a pretty big push at the end. I’m happy for them. I’m also happy that people can start devoting a bit more time to other kickstarter campaigns like Grim Dawn now.

Here’s my bits of advice, for whatever they are worth:

Banner Saga had some rather large spikes at times based on the kicktraq data. I would have to guess it was based on some of their larger announcements like including the entire trilogy in the $50 package and the art and music direction. Granted, Banner Saga is filling a niche both in terms of animation and gameplay style that has not been filled for quite some time.

You’ve got heavier competition, but still have lots of time. Brian Fargo was doing interviews, ask me anything sessions on Reddit, and just about anything he could to keep his game in the media. I’ve noticed Leisure Suit Larry and Pinkerton Road both doing well, albeit slowly, and they seem to be putting a lot of face time on camera.

Perhaps you and Rhis should talk a bit more about who you are and who you are not. Some people hear you worked on Titan Quest and think “Great!”. Others think about that game that had planned bugs to thwart pirates and then blamed piracy on the failure of the game. Don’t let people neglect backing based on what Michael Fitch and THQ has had to say. You should reiterate the fact that you did not get to do what you wanted to do with Titan Quest. I’ve seen your passion here on the forums, but not everyone on Kickstarter has.

EDIT: Not sure what Michael hoped to accomplish by crying about hardware compatibility issues. There are new PC games released every day and I don’t hear them complaining/blaming the platform.

Well to be fair they don’t cry because they are used to this and frankly, they aren’t bankrupt.^^
I think the trouble with hardware is true. The best example is Blizzard releasing a list of video-cards that won’t get official support for Diablo3.

Anyway: yay medierra uploaded the vid to youtube. Maybe this gives the kickstarter a little push.

Edit: People are talking about promoting this to the Diablo3-fans…no offense but…I dont really want too many people from the blizzard-boards around here…

Argg… I’m sure Michael meant well but that has been a thorn in our side ever since we started Crate even though it was never said by us, it was never said by anyone at Iron Lore and it isn’t anything we believe.

I actually just posted a response to it on QuarterToThree after I noticed that the issue had been resurrected once again:

http://www.quartertothree.com/game-talk/showpost.php?p=3104210&postcount=262

I found the vast majority of people at QuarterToThree to be a good group and very reasonable in listening to my side of the story. Sounds like a lot of them are TQ fans.

Although, it is a bit eerie to find a place on the internet where people act so totally reasonable… ; )

Oi, oi. What about us nice guys from the grimdawn.com-forums? :frowning:
We can be eerie as well you know.

Oops, wrong thread

Too late, Already made it here from Blizzard forums!
