Official Grim Dawn Kickstarter Thread

Awesome man! Thank you for the help in reaching the Spanish audience!

The distribution between pledge tiers seems really good and spot-on, almost a perfectly linear dropoff into the higher tiers. A good sign of well balanced rewards I’m sure!

I’m not sure how accurate that estimation is, does it even incorporate the initial buff? Most kickstarter projects get the buff of their funds the first 2 days, than it tapers off, only to be increased again near the end.

Kicktraq just takes the average and extrapolates on the remaining days. So it is not reliable when it comes to trends. We will know more when we see where the pledges platous. And as others have said there is usually a spike at the end. And possibly a few smaller spikes following popular updates

Let us all hope medierra makes a lot of popular updates.

I am sure he will, I have enjoyed reading about his thoughts on this and other games.
I hope he will share more of those thoughts!

Yeah like looptop mentioned, the “trend” takes the average from launch to present and assumes that pattern will repeat, ie 130k every 4 days. It specifically states that it’s not a forecast.

A slightly more correct estimation (which would still be wild speculation) would be to take only the last day’s backings and extrapolate that. Currently we have 6k today, which - if it repeats until the deadline - is enough to meet the goal.

I think kickstarter projects follow a trend that’s rather easy to estimate. Mix that graph chart with the current funding and you have a reliable estimation. Ofcourse it can still be completely off, but it’d offer an average that you can actually work with, rather than basing it off the current funding, knowing that the initial funding is much higher…

Going by yesterday’s and today’s pledges, it looks like the Kickstarter has settled into a groove of getting about 10-15k per day. We also know that Kickstarter projects tend to have the most activity the first 2 days and the last 2 days. So extrapolating 10-15k per day over the next 26 days, then adding a rather conservative 50k for the final 2 days, I come up with a figure of nearly half a million. That’s assuming no spikes during the “slow” time. On some other projects I’ve heard it said that they had a bit of a spike after doing a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything). Any chance of Crate doing one of those sometime?

I actually created a spreadsheet based on the curves of other projects and came out with results fairly similar to what Keyrock suggests. The big thing for us will be where we plateau. If we can keep it up to like $10k per day or above, I think we’ll do fairly well.

We’re going to do an AMA next week

Awesome, I can’t wait for that. I hope it gives the Kickstarter a nice big spike in pledges too.

Uh nice an ama. Gotta prepare some nice questions for that. >:)

I went from Legendary Pre-Order to Boxed Deluxe Edition…

I normally don’t do things like this but you guys do something most devs don’t…honest communication. Keep it up please!

I’ve the same disease. 600+ physical games in a bookshelf, certainly around 50 big rare collectors, but time to play just a hundred of them. But I wouldn’t change my game wall against a steam account with all existing games of the universe. :stuck_out_tongue:

My jealousy, can you feel it from here? :stuck_out_tongue:
I wish I had all the boxed copies of the classics from the last 20+ years. Of course, I don’t have the space to shelf them all at the moment. Although the Skyrim CE box makes a good footstool…

Medierra may I suggest you give us a small update once we hit the 50%, 140.000$? would be cool and I think the people would love it.

I agree a small update would help a bit

Just thanks for your jalousy. Here was my collection several month ago (everything in a box with a manual of course) : Mobygames

Anyway, I agree with what was saying in the other thread, it would be good that medierra posts his kickstarter video on every site he has already spoken of Grim Dawn. For 100.000 is there always a good number of potential backers.

Call me a nervous nelly… actually don’t that sounds stupid. But I’m still very anxious about this. The projected number is like 500k, so a little less than double the target price, but I don’t think I’ll feel relived until they actually pass 280k.

It’s funny as I’m not even one of the producers of the game, But I just can’t shake the feeling.

A guy said at the comment section that he’ll back it with 100k if the project will reach 180k in 4 days. After that, he backed it with 1k, so I think he’s not lying.
