Official Grim Dawn Kickstarter Thread

Correct on all counts.

Over 20% now and still going strong. Wonder how much you can manage in 24h (still 8 hours to go).

There would, although it would require quite a large amount and it doesn’t look like there is very much chance of us getting there. I think We’d really need to get over $2m for closed servers because it is basically like an entire new development effort.

I got a question; similar to this. Can’t seem to find a answer… How is the online match-making service going to work? Gamespy or something else?

It will probably be through Steam first and then maybe other services. There will also be LAN.

Just pledged 375 even though I already got Legendary. April is only half over and gave and pledged over a thousand to Kickstarters now. And yet this is the one I want the most! ARG!

I’m sorry if this is a foolish question but hopefully someone with patience can respond, I only found out about this Kick thing from a third party news board (I have avoided coming here or reading in depth about the game as much as possible since so the wait is more bearable and my expectations will be tempered by the unknown)

So, to the point at hand, I signed up July or August last year for a legendary key. Everything went through at the time as expected, I received the community email, the “Receipt/Purchase Confirmation” email, the “thanks here is your key” email and vaguely remember sticking my name on a webform somewhere.

I realise this is probably explained somewhere clearly already but my ability with the forum search utility is somewhat… lacking…so…

What exactly am I supposed to do now with the what how?

So does that mean we get like a halo, pope hat, or some other wacky holy item in game?

Just nothing if you’re happy with your current key. And follow the guidelines on the first posts of this topic if you want to back for more on Kickstarter.

I’ve a question about update : do I have to expect any sort of confirmation from my e-mail at [email protected] ? I have no autoconfirmation in return and don’t know if it’s normal. :o

I got an autoreply after upgrading:
Your upgrade request has been received. We will process it and get
back to you as soon as we can. Thank you for supporting Grim Dawn on
Kickstarter!

Yeah, sorry, I hadn’t read it carefully enough plus my husband was talking to me about something else at the time! Split concentration resulting in reduced intake. :o

Really good start and hoping the pledges continue to roll in for you guys. A project well worth supporting imho.

Oh yeah I got it too !! But it was entitled as my other Kickstarter mails so for me it was just another confirmation of my pledge on Kickstarter.

Thanks !

A fellow programmer twisted my arm – we’re both on $85 pledges for the same reasons: this looks like it’s going to be epic and, personally, I have a lot of respect for programmers with a passion to produce something that really blows the user/client/gamer away. Can’t wait for a release – anything that I can get into playing (: I know that my friend and I would be more than ready to do bug-bashing (:

ooooOOoooh you start out like a box like torchlight’s up-size it to the new anniversary edition sized box of OGRE the board-game (via thickness of the cardboard or better yet plexiglass), put in hidden cheat codes mazed through magic eye goodness, apply needless amounts of holography and make it impossible to open without either a special decoder ring or a ye old fashion rustic key that doubles as a slide whistle now that would be a super deluxe box ;D .

Me i just wish half the boxed games i bought came with the magnetically sealed plastic covers target and big W have

Backed. Will increase pledge when have more funds :stuck_out_tongue:

So…just read about the KickStarter project (Im Late I know). I had already pre-ordered the “Epic” edition eons ago. So, what is the step I need to take now?

@Kyle_Gates and Badmagic - there is nothing else to do unless you want to [post=51840]Upgrade your Existing Pre-order[/post]. Link is dead by now - information was only applicable during the Kickstarter campaign.

Well, I would totally be up for an upgrade…but the math seems to be against us. 67k now for a goal of 280k…with 30 days remaining…and if goal is not met then all upgrades are “void”. Correct? Just wanna make sure I know whats what before I throw some more cash in the pot!

I think it looks quite promising and Crate will reach the goal - but really, I do not have any experience with KS projects.

To my understanding your understanding is correct

Not bad almost 70.000 now. I think they will make their goal easily but let’s see how far it gets.

btw I just read that Double Fine got their 400.000 in about 8 hours… o_O
