what Bas says about Resists is important
but it’s also not the only defensive shortcoming (and that’s important for Veteran especially)
Armour rating and armour absorb, since basically 98% of all enemies deal some form of physical dmg
Healing aka sustain, “recovering health from dmg taken, - outside of healing potion since it has cooldown”. You need lifesteal(Attack Damage Converted to Health) and or health regen and or heal procs, either or combinations of these to basically keep your health bar topped off 24/7.
With Forcewave, since it uses weapon dmg, global lifesteal is great, Since you’re Soldier class health regen is also great, combine these 2 avenues, while fixing your resist and armour rating/absorb, and you will be like playing with Godmode on.
If you do not wish to pay attention to these elements as strictly and detailedly, i would recommend you play on Normal instead, as it’s way more lenient in the amounts of these that will be required but also how late/what stage of the game.
If when you did/do continue to play and advance later into the game or even Elite it will all become basically mandatory tho.
in essence it’s not dissimilar to other games, where diablo 2 had pot spam GD just moved that to be stats(lifesteal/regen) and the potion is more like a backup skill for emergencies. Likewise other games have other defensive stats to focus in for GD it’s then resist and armour as core defence
and like i mentioned earlier, if when that is done, the game becomes very easy/almost like playing with dev commands or godmode on, and i promise you that can be done/that stage can be reach especially for a FW soldier
I would t say armor isn’t important on these stages, since you can go through them with almost zero armor of lokair’s set. Yes, you will not be able to facetank voldrak and etc, but many of monsters, that inflict heavy physical damage have huge models and slow, so its a good opportunity to learn out how to play (kite them, forcewave supports it).
Resistances are super important, so take aim to put on items containing good sum of them to reach 80% to all (but phys). Dont try to chase %physical damage from items madly up to ~lvl60, since they are small, and you will gain good amount of it from cunning, devos, masteries auras such as oleron’s rage and field command.
Also i would recomend to include crab and turtle devotions, their procs are crazy potent
I’ve recently started playing my Ludrigan Storm Totem Druid again, and for most content you could easily just put down your totems and run around while they and your Wind Devils kill stuff for you, without ever needing to use chain lightning or PRT yourself, nevermind Nullification or Mirror. Nemesis monsters might need some more (lazy) button clicks though.
