Think it is about time for a new one of these…
Dell keyboard, eh?
Hey, if it has all the utility buttons, cool beans. My pad is plastic, so it doesn’t look like that quite yet. I’m surprised you haven’t gotten one sooner lmao
Do you wear blades like a Dranghoul while typing??
Yes, I agree that it’s time for a replacement “wrist support thing”.

Utility buttons? I just use the cheapest most basic keyboard I can find and typically pop the windows buttons off - they’re a liability in hardcore mode.
What band is your wrist pad; this one is belkin? I need to find something that will last longer. I’ve just been trying to keep this thing alive because it started falling apart within a few weeks after I brought it and I refused to pay up for another one so soon. Stapling the edges has kept it going for about a year but now it is totally disintegrating. :furious:
Hm I never really understood the purpose of those things to be honest.
Whatever the purpose is, yours doesnt serve it anymore.
No, but I have been known to wear my POWER ARM!!1! from time to time.
This improvised “forearm brace” is actually a sock wrapped in electrical tape that I wore for a week last summer because my arm felt like it was about to explode from tendonitis. Yup, too cheap to go to the drugstore and buy one.
The purpose is to prevent the above post…
Years of constant computer use take their toll.
That looks like the first piece of bonus/Easter egg equipment!!

Utility buttons: play music, pause, mute, volume up/down, random, search feature, calculator. I have all those on my current keyboard (gateway) and it is attached to said plastic wristguard thingy. I can’t remove it, but it’s fine, I don’t mind cause it’s somewhat comfortable.
Yes, I do use my calculator button and music buttons often. The search one not so much cause I can just windows flag + E.
I’ve had this keyboard about… 5 years now? maybe 6?
Power arm is quite epic.
I realy got confused when i saw this i thought you bought a keyboard that goes on your wrist like some sort of star trek thing lol. ill buy that power arm from you!
yeah i baught a keyboard the other day and it came with one of those. it also came with red lights between keys!
hahaha epic. I never had tendonitis (is that the actual name of this?) despite more than 12 years of playing video-games. Lucky me.
Well once My wrist if I moved it in a specific wayreally hurt for like 1-2 months but I didn’t know what it was and kind of ignored it…

Say hello to Carpal Tunnel!
I have a thing like this on my mouse pad:
Here is the keyboard equivalent.
They actually work, they are squishy gel things that everybody loves.

Actually, I should get a keyboard one to go with my DAS.
Time for you to upgrade…
Hm that was like 4 years ago but recently I had some pain in the wrist again. Guess I should see a doc to check it…
If you know someone who can sew decently they could probibly make you one of those just by using the remnants of your previous support for a stencil and work from there. It’d probibly work out cheeper and more than likely last longer (but only if they can actualy sew :p)
as for tendonitis i’ve never had it but given enough time i can leave the left side of my left hand numb and tingly for days if i play on the computer for a couple of days and at several hours at a time. I think i keep pinching a nerve somewhere lol.
Improvised arm guards, tattered wrist rests for keyboards. You really are pushing the penniless indie image. What next? Discovering that while you guys code, you have to run a pedal powered generator to supply electricity to your computer, and a single incadescent lightbulb in the room?
I hope the power arm makes it into GD as an in game item (or quest item).
Haha, love the power arm! Can’t say I love the reason behind it, but nevertheless, great solution!
Yay! Someone else who uses a DasKeyboard! I’ve got one just like in the picture (it’s actually the “silent” aka quieter version). Best keyboard I’ve ever used and totally worth the price. … I did realize afterwards that the blank version isn’t really the most practical for coding, so I might have to get another one, with the labeled keys, when I’ve got some extra money.
I swear, I’ll never go back to a normal cheap keyboard though! Things were starting to get painful before I got my DasKeyboard, now it’s all cleared up.
you could just get a marker and write abc… and all that stuff on the keyboard! its much cheaper!
My keyboard is backlit, no marker required although you’d probibly need something like whiteout to write on a blakc keyboard, unless markers now write in white.
I use one of these:
cause I have relative long arms and fingers (I’m 176 cm high but spans 196 cm measured from the tips of my middle fingers). Using an ordinary keyboard is no fun in the long run for me.
