Mostly for aesthetic reasons, I would love to see some rivers and streams in place. Many great cities are built along rivers, and this would add a further dynamic to navigate in building a city
Kind of along that line of thinking, perhaps a way to build bridges? I don’t mind making them super expensive, like 20 iron, 20 stone and 20 wood/planks per tile, for example (or even more!), but I’ve had some maps where a bridge across a body of water would make for huge improvements in terms of travel times to resources that were further away. Could even make them able to be upgraded to allow for a bit of +desirability.
Thirdly, maybe a coastal map would be cool, with the option of building a dock for trade and fishing ships. Could even branch out into navy for raids from across the ocean. Lots of sand, little clay, some stone… would love to see your creativity come into play here.
Lastly, for maps that are prone to droughts, but have a body of water, I would love to be able to irrigate my fields by digging trenches from a lake to my farms to prevent crops dying of thirst.
I’m close to 700 hours of played time in this game, and I’ve absolutely loved the journey of development it’s taken, it’s been a great experience. Your open communication about your intentions and expectations has been on point. Keep up the amazing work!
