Pet Changes Discussion - now with 100% less testing!

A farmer knows how to grow crops, but it is a safe bet that the Chef is more knowledgeable when it comes to cooking with the produce.

If Z wants to ban me for whatever reason, he could have already and regardless it will make 0 difference to me.

But just like I know I am not better than Mamba or Zantai when it comes to coding, I have yet to see anything from either of them displaying more knowledge or experience when it comes to pet builds.

Its just that I have never heard anyone, except beginners, say they struggle with completing sets post transmutation.

What kind of things?

Which is exactly why he takes valid, measurable player feedback into consideration, which is so far sparse in this topic.

Guys Mad_lee is banned, Idk how you manage to pack 83 ( and more coming) comments into a REEEE balancing thread.

nonsense exaggerations are always such a great response…

maybe because not all feedback is about balance ? maybe because not everything is perfectly balanced and if you stumble across something that actually isn’t being able to give feedback is a good thing ?

to better balance things obviously. I am not the one opposed to them, so this is another weird one… Just because you have no idea about balance (you only know pet builds) and want them to be OP / stronger than what Crate wants them to be does not mean there shouldn’t be any

Zantai isn’t a coder. Jus’ saying.

So I must be a beginner because I don’t have 200 sets of Beastcaller lying around? Cool standards, bro.

Nemesis monsters are hitting them way harder in general, and are taking less damage overall. Even regular heroes have more tankiness to them, and this is with a fully complete build. About the only thing I could do is try rolling stats to be slightly higher, but I doubt it’d help.

Yeah maybe you are idk how much SR you farm, but try to play loooong sessions. Do not quit game, leave it on over night and continue farming

Nemesis in campaign or in SR?

Something something shake and bake got nerfed and people call for reversion because of qualitative feels? Is this

oh it’s 2021

State a metric, demonstrate if the builds can/can’t hit that metric.
Bonus points: state a reasonable metric

you forgot to add the part where it also needs to be within his sense of what is balanced and what is not. That is the problem. Mere feedback isn’t enough, it needs to show a problem when viewed through his perspective.

So opinions matter when it suit you and not when it doesn’t. Classy.

And you want someone who knows about balance outside of Pet builds? We can bring Madl… oh wait…

But, you know nothing about balance regarding any of the builds though, to know what is balanced or not. So there is that.

Sorry, but if you want to keep up the “preats blindly defending the devs routine”, leave me out of it.

I am not sure exactly what his official job is, designer?
doesn’t matter, I am not a game developer. We can go with that.

SR. What else could I be talking about? Your snark isn’t as cute as you think it is.

Designer yes. I believe he knows a little coding, of course, but I think as far as Grim Dawn goes he’s more about the design aspect, tweaking the numbers (obviously) etc.

that’s right, he’s a nerfer image

I don’t have a single proper endgame viable pet build, so I can’t say anything valuable for sane players.

But I did some quick tests, and my HC Ultimate meme ghost Death Knight and birb Witchblade definitely became stronger and faster ugdenbloom farmers :stuck_out_tongue:. So my impression is that this patch favors undergeared pet builds and hybrids, and some of them might even turn out good.

Is it a problem when the game developers have a vision and goal for their game based upon what their preferences? Grim Dawn is not a democracy or “everyone can get what they want”. BUT they made the game modable if you wanna play it your way (like GDstashing  )

It is like with any other product, devolopers have a vision but still wanna hear what people think. But ultimately, it is the developers call - not the customers.

It was not intended to be snarky, I have no idea what you play. Some people actually still play nemesis in MC for some reason

aw%20yeah

Sh*t is getting good.

Let us not get into the vision debate since it has spawned like 3 different threads before.

Well he did make the game, so of course the feedback needs to be within his definition of balance. All games have a vision, and if the feedback isn’t consistent with this vision, it won’t be implemented. What’s the alternative? The only other system I could think of would be a “Democratic game design” where players vote on changes and the most popular ones would be incorporated regardless of the devs wishes, but what dev would agree to that
