Pet Changes Discussion - now with 100% less testing!

Yeah getting that off-hand would not have been an easy task but is the only item you have that modifies primal spirit uptime so kinda no brainer to figure out that it is the item to use.

This is like the most elitist stuff I have read here since madlee got banned  keep it up!

Since? I have been the MadLee of Pets even before I left GD Discord. You are a good number of patches too late to that.

Have you tried the medal? My standards are lower than the average player, but I had a lot of fun with the medal knowing I wasn’t automatically gimping myself by using it over beastcaller. Or at least, gimping myself less than before the patch

That medal would go nicely with the Necrolord’s Gaze, actually, and I planned to do a Ritualist build with that. But it’s not a replacement for a completed beastcaller set when that’s what I been collecting for literally years. I took me until the second expansion to complete it.

I have. As part of a Setless Pet build. It will never compete with Beastcallers or provide competition even if you nerf Beastcaller’s Pet and Player bonuses by half.

On its own, sure. It even filled a niche, one could say.

But if you wanted a Briarthorn + Primal spirit build, would you go for it over Beastcallers just for the CDR?
And will the final build provide similar performance to a full Beastcaller setup, even now?

I see it like conduits, as an enabler for weird or quirky builds. It could see a place in one of my meme setups. But not for something else.

Facepalm…
No, the item that modifies the skill was not just that, but the complete Beastcaller set too. Which is now gone. And took me a long time to complete.

This is the second guy in this thread that says they have been trying for years to get beastcallers set. I have 46 pieces of it, and I restarted patch 1.1.7 (and have the blueprint for helmet).

I just checked you joined last year October? You have no idea what things were like before Transmute was a thing.

Remember to keep things civil and chill in here folks.

Good for you, but some of us actually worked a while for some of these sets. To see them nerfed like this in a final patch isn’t fun.

I have played since AoM was out. Transmutation was added in FG like in march 2019, almost two years ago. I restarted in june last year when 1.1.7 was released.
But yes, it was hard to complete sets before FG.

No idea what you mean by worked a while, I also worked hard but they are still random drop stuff. Just farm SR for a week or so in the same game session (do not exit game to exploit item reroll mechanic) and you should have almost all legendary non-MI items. I have worked way harder to get insane rolled MIs just to get them nerfed to death in the next patch

Keep things chill? fine…

From starting Ashes when it came out, I managed to finally get the full set about a week before FG came out. There was no “lol just farm SR for a week” for me. That was a lot of time and patience spent just for it to be nuked because Zantai doesn’t like pets being strong in a singleplayer game.

But surley, you must have gotten beastcallers several times by now? You could do the same but in Crucible, just never exit the game!

But anyway cool story bro, I have worked hard for items too that got killed by patches - never have I whined about that, it is just the nature of a game in development.

They are still strong, what are you talking about? What does strong mean for you?

I guess in that case there is nothing to complain about here. Just a different opinion on how hard the game should be, instead of anything being objectively bad.

Then remove the feedback section altogether since all balance changes are opinion based.

Why even bother with balance patches?

Zantai knows best, being the best builder to grace these interwebs.

One or two pieces? Sure, but I haven’t managed to get a full set again since.

They’re noticeably weaker in SR from the runs I’ve been doing. Clear times from 65-66 have gone up by at least a couple minutes, pets are much squishier, and aren’t doing anywhere near the kind of damage they used to. I haven’t even bothered to test 75-76 yet.

They’re fine in MC content though, but that’s not a high bar.

So why do I have 46 pieces since june last year? And most of my play time has been leveling new builds SSF :stuck_out_tongue:

I did some sr 75-76 runs today with my beastcalled build physical pets KEKW the worst shit there is in pet standards and I thought it was just fine. Never did a pet die actually.

I can smell Maya banned until 3021, joining the madlee club

btw this is a serious question, the total damage modifiers on certain MI’s to pets, are they working towards only the basic pet attack or all the skills and devotions they use?

solution, add +1 more summon to pet sets :stuck_out_tongue:
(kinda only half joking, srs Z, wouldn’t it be possible to also move a +1 summon to MI/similar slot item per set?´)

also i kinda feel like some people are missing a little something
wasn’t it kinda “undisputed” pet were kinda “OP”, conjurer in particular?, so a wee nerf can’t really be that unreasonable for top performance right?, specially if regular performance is still ok (and yes i know we have different definitions of what “ok” might be)

I don’t know why you have so many, luck? They’re a random world drop, dude, not something you can target. Stop acting like that means anything.

Conjurer is definitely worse off since this patch. Pets are dying to things much easier than they used to, even with the extra health from skill ranks, and damage just isn’t really there.
