As the title says.
Only one blade is hitting enemies like spiders/hounds/rats, best case scenario.
Sometimes I’m missing without any prompt several times in a row, as if projectiles don’t even touch my targets’ hitboxes.
Elevation seems to affect it, depending on the angle — can make things both better or worse.
Point-blank targets can also just ingnore hits for quite a while.
I’ll add more video proofs if needed, here’s a short example for now.
this also seems to break stun jacks. cursor position no longer has an effect on how far projectiles go that are not close to the centre, they will always go max range and it appears they also have a habit of not hitting targets on their way. currently playing cooldown based and will test spam jacks later but this seems to be in line with above observations.
currently doing steps of torment, i don’t think enemy height has anything to do with it. i’ll test a bit more but i fear you can change the title to “all projectile burst skills are broken”.
edit: great, forget testing this vs target dummies.
started to test things with an immortal build that doesn’t kill too fast i still can’t pin it down precisely. might be enemy types, might be relative position? i’ve had instances where all stun jacks just went over the harpies that surrounded my char.
before:

after (aiming at marked position):

do i need to upload video footage of enemies going full neo on my ass or can devs already repro?
Ooooof. I might try to make a quick test of all similar skills, if the problem seems to include not just phantasmal blades and stun jacks.
Doubt I’ll have time for it in the nearest time.
Sorry for the late reply, btw!
no worries, i’m just a bit worried this hasn’t been caught to a greater extend.
(i am aiming at the priest there, promise)

i take it back and claim the opposite. it probably has to do with the height of the enemies. so in the area where i had problems with stun jacks phantasmal blades seem to work mostly fine (as far as i can tell, once again with a low dps build and without pass through).
so what actually might happen is that only a single projectile is launched at the correct angle to hit a targets mass centre and the rest are launched at the the angle for max range (with some spread). which means stun jacks with their drop-off get launched at a steeper angle compared to phantasmal blades. which means stun jacks can go over skellies and such but phantasmal blades only over spiders (where mass centre basically is the height).
at least that’s my current working theory.

I tested stun jacks and got roughly the same results.
Also done some testing for the sake of testing and couldn’t find any other skills affected by this issue.
UPD. Chillspikes (granted by Seal of the Night) might be affected as well.
UPD2. Might be also the case for aether burst (Rutnick’s blaster) and storm spread, but testing it would be a real pain =_="
I’m not sure about WPS, but all projectile burst skills seem affected by this, and if it’s not as bad for fireball-like projectiles, anything grenado-like is just, well, nearly useless. Be it item procs (aether missiles skill from arcane blaze suffix) or monster skills (pusquill’s poison spit) - projectiles always fly to max distance and at best only one of them hits even in melee. Stun jacks are just the most obvious example.
While I totally can understand intention to prevent point blank targeting abuse on aether phantasmal blades, is there really no other way to do that without breaking so many other things? Perfect solution probably would be turning it into proper projectile nova, but as far as I know projectile burst skill template doesn’t allow it, neither GD engine allows changing skill template via modifiers (yet?).
it doesn’t seem to be just player skills
Zantarin looks like “missing” me at relatively close range with the projectiles just flying overhead on appearance
Quick update to confirm that the problem seems to be solved. I’ll give it some testing, when I’ll have time for it to be sure.
