Pigs and Spoilage

Loving the game. I thought you could hook pigs or swine into the spoilage mechanism. They’ve historically been fed left-overs, scraps, and unwanted food and/or foraging in the forest.

A swine herd, piggery, or pig sty could be like a Barn, but would absorb spoilage from other places before eating into stored root vegetables. It wouldn’t produce hides, but you’d still get meat and tallow. However, you’d probably want to have a truly noxious effect on desirability (pigs smell worse than almost all over livestock).

I love the idea of absorbing spoliage to be used. As feed or even as compost in the current building, but you would need laborers to transport the spoiled goods. So it’s an offset, the resources you gain from spoiled food, you lose in travel time to get them out of the cellar/storehouse and to those production buildings when those laborers could be doing other things with that time. Right now for me it’s more cost-effective to let the food spoil than to use labor/travel time to take it somewhere else.
