Something I noticed while beautifying my town. For some reason, upgrading a small plaza to a small bricked plaza costs 5 planks, even though planks shouldn’t be involved in the process at all. To contrast this, as seen in the picture, a small bricked plaza with a bench upgrade (on the left) costs 2 planks and somehow the same building without the bench costs more planks? Another comparison: the medium bricked plaza upgrade doesn’t have a plank cost, just gold and bricks. Having 3 separate materials to upgrade a 1x1 plaza doesn’t make much sense.

You’re right that doesn’t seem very logical. Also wouldn’t make sense for a scaffolding since brick floor laying usually doesn’t require scaffolding. It really shouldn’t cost anything but bricks and gold.
