Playtesters' plea for help - Zantai's Last Secret

Sorry to dissapoint you but it was posted in the Lore discussion thread

Maybe we need to unequip our weapons, so that we are barehanded.
Than try that at the hands sigil. I’ll have to try tomorrow.

The Numbers Mason…What do they mean??

Stand in one spot for 100 seconds obviously.

Didn’t realize Zantai was a fan of Earthbound if we are talking about standing around in one spot.

Mmm, no, I think it involves more of an adventure.

I hope this doesn’t involve a certain ring and throwing it into a volcano.

So, I wanted to link this, I believe it’s likely just a mistake on minimap design, but near a ‘suspect’ eye of ulzuin there’s this lovely bit of ‘gray’ area that implies a path, that I’ve been trying to navigate to for a while.

I think maybe when Zantai refers to adventure, he’s talking about going to the actual Eye location shown on the world map, and not the outskirts of it.

Throwing it out there.

Edit: Actually what even is the ‘zone’ of eye of ulzuin doing here, being so small? It’s almost like you should be able to go past known map borders to explore more given how the known zone of it is so small, I’ve tried using movement skills like leaps to get across potential unknowns to no avail. I swear if Zantai hid a secret part of the Eye behind just one usable new movement rune I’ll not be amused.

Zantai has said in the past that access to the world editor map wouldn’t help figure the secret out. A whole massive area like that would clearly be visible in such a map.

So this is a massive shot in the dark.

Seems like the item sets from each game add up to 98. If this count does not include the two sets acquired from secret areas, lokarr and dark one’s, then that means there are 100 item sets in the game. I was honestly too lazy to count them out because separating all the empowered and mythical stuff is just a hassle. But its possible that “count to 100 and consider everything” means complete every set in the game, all 100 of them.

So maybe if you have all of the sets in the inventory/bank of one character something appears towards the end of FG? A massive if being if there is enough bag space, I’m inclined to say there isn’t but who knows, they did increase bag space.

Also worth brainstorming all of the rabbithole-like areas in FG, both subterranean and dreamlike.

Some things I thought about:

  • No playtester could find it. I think (may the playtesters prove me wrong) they tested mostly FG so perhaps there is a higher chance the secret is in this area.
  • 100 = 100…or binary, like 4?

I think i have stumbled on something. When i get home from work i will investigate it. If i can’t find it. i will share share it with you guys.

Oh, I’ve stumbled across several things so far but all of them proved to be fake leads. I still think it has to do somethin with Daila. She just vanishes. she doesn’t get back to Homestead how she said she would. In both the base game and AoM she had a simple quest and a secret one. I doubt FG will be different.

Don’t you see - it’s easy, you just need to [REDACTED by Lokarr for mortal’s sanity] then chug 100 [REDACTED] and fight Korvaak naked and make a sacrifice to [REDACTED] after your adventure to [REDACTED]! Totally simple!

/s

And yeah, I think Zantai needs to give us less vague clues - for as anyone who’s ever dealt with brain teasers (or adventure games) simple solutions are never as simple as the creators claim and need solid hints to solve. For mortal brains art ever so good at missing stuff, if not whole people in gorilla suits. Also you often need to take the same drugs the creators were on in the case of adventure games [insert horrific flashbacks here], because fridge logic puzzles never make sense while sober.

It might be something as simple as having every set, every part existing across your account for a hidden achievement.

I like this speculation since it’s considered an adventure to find all of this, it’s all related to ‘connection’ since you are making sets that connect, etc.

But this is every single set, I wonder if this includes non-Mythical too.

In terms of timeline, FG comes first than AoM?

Like Vanilla > FG > AoM

aom comes first, but crate unlocked FG from the start, and it’s better for QoL, but really bad for story consistency.

I’m pretty sure it has something to do with Dailia. Those quests always had something to do with her. She can probably travel through rifts, if she used a rift to travel back to Homestead maybe something imprisoned her or prevented her from getting out of the void. In the void, she probably saw you in the Vanguard of the Three green portal. Then she threw the Chillheart to you with the message “stuck in another reality, please send help”…

Or MAYBE, Uroboruuk IS ALIVE and is stuck in another reality.
Dailia = Stormheart
Dravis = Blazeheart
and
Uroboruuk = Chillheart (lots of items from the order have cold damage, maybe Uroboruuk deals cold damage too )

Well i’m going to tell my finding what i think is a good lead.

From the lore note:

Jeren’s Log - 2nd Entry

Last night we reached the badlands around the Valley of the Chosen where we made camp along a jagged ridgeline. Just over the crest, as far as the eye could see, the harsh volcanic landscape was dotted with tomb entrances and monuments whose golden inlays sparkled in the bright moonlight; all of which were centered along a main corridor of grand burial crypts.

It was an equally exhilarating and daunting sight as I was not looking forward to traversing volcanic rock and leaping over molten rivers. And I have to say there’s been some strange goings-on as we draw nearer to our goal. This morning I could swear that the earth itself shook me awake and in the last fitful moments of sleep I dreamt of being consumed by fire, sinking deeper and deeper into an endless ocean of flame. As I jerked back to the realm of the waking I saw Amal sleeping like a freshly suckled pig, clutching his empty rum casque like the teat of a generous mother. It must have been in my head, perhaps an anxious dream brought on by the anticipation of the final leg of our journey and the riches that might be buried in the valley ahead.

But later, as we broke camp, I noticed something very peculiar. We arrived last night well after sunset and I would have bet my life we made our camp at the foot of a massive statue. This morning, it was missing. I was dumbstruck. Not only was it gone but there were gargantuan footprints leading away from it like those of a man wearing heavy boots, only many times larger. They were deep and the stride was long as if the statue had just walked off in the night or some massive man had slung it over his shoulder and made off with it.

When I told Amal he seemed surprised at first, but then brushed it off. He insisted there was no statue, that the full moon played a cruel trick on me. I think he saw it too, I’m certain of it, but he’s so focused on finding treasure that he won’t admit to any distractions.

If that weren’t enough, as we made our way down into the valley I could swear I saw an entire caravan of men and women dressed in long gray robes and heavy armor off in the distance. They were traveling northward along the ridgeline next to the tombs, chanting as they went. By the time I got Amal to stop gaping at the gold inlay on the temple door we were going to pry open, he missed seeing them entirely. I feel as though I’m losing my mind but I’m quite positive we are not alone here.

I don’t suppose it matters much at this point. We’ve reached our goal, the tomb marked on Amal’s map is right beneath our feet. This one, among so many, supposedly holds grand riches. Perhaps once we’re inside, I can breathe easy away from all the weirdness happening out here; if we can figure out how to get the damned thing open.

While looking for more lore clues i stumbled on this: https://www.grimtools.com/db/items/11535

When u look at the text:

“A fine enchanting powder derived from the ashes of the pyres within Irrah’s temple that fills the bearer with an unnatural calm.”

So to sum that up, i think we need to be at a specific location and wait for the appropriate time. Than i believe we can enter this temple of Irrah.

No. Vanilla, then AoM, then FG is the ‘correct’ order
