Please, don't use the trade-post as Global Storage

Basically what the title says, let wagons and laborers take out the stuff to their dedicated storage facilities.
Right now the trade-post is used as global storage for everything that comes through it.
That is a horrible design choice, here is why:

  1. Players can’t actually see what is stored.
  2. There are dedicated storage facilities, normally placed at more convenient locations then the one.
  3. Food spoils the fastest in the trade-post (not considered underground, nor gets bonus from barrels)
  4. Vault is nearly empty, standing there like “what is my purpose in live?” (current game i have over 6K global coin, only 428 is in the vault, rest is from trading/transfer from trade-post and sits somewhere inthere)
  5. There seems to be a max storage quantity, tradeposts give the “storage full” icon pretty fast into the game.

I don’t have this issue. My settlers only put stuff into the trade post if I tell them to, and I can also freely move gold into and out of it, but gold never moves into it on its own unless it’s from a sale. Maybe it’s a settling you have turned on?

It’s not a design choice, it’s a bug. Items are not intended to stay indefinitely within the Trading Post.

It is ?
Thought it was intended. Fair enough, my bad :upside_down_face:

Which is fabulous but then if you can’t get the trading post loaded up quickly enough during a merchant’s visiting cycle to actually trade, that is not going to help either. We should be able to see what we have stocked if there is a limit and be able to move items in and out more quickly especially if we need to manage the quantities in global storage. Even emptying the entire trading post and starting from scratch to restock when the merchant arrives, even small quantities seems to take weeks to load by which time the merchant leaves. Could we perhaps assign more stockers and prioritize which items to collect to enable smoother transactions?

There are two storages in trade post. One is for trading and you can see quantities there. So you definitely can load it in time for trade.

The second is invisible, counts for global storage and is populated when you transfer bought goods. Only this part is a bug, i.e. the fact that it’s invisible and workers don’t move it to other storage places.
