Like the topic say. Please no Grim Dawn 2
We already have a Grim Dawn and i think it’s time for a new lore and theme for their next ARPG game. Even if people ask for Grim Dawn 2, i think Crate should honestly re-consider and do a different theme game this time around.
how would Grim Dawn 2 take anything away from you?
it’s either good and you can enjoy it, or it’s bad and you can ignore it and play GD1/Diablo∞/PoE3 etc
Grim Dawn 2 being developed is also not gonna take “potential” games development away from you, because that’s not how things work, Crate has their plans/schedule list and is doing those X games because they want to/have decided so.
you?
you’re implying there is something “bad”/detracting about a GD2 being made “hence requesting not to make it” and make something else instead,
but GD 2 being made doesn’t change anything for you, so it shouldn’t matter if it’s being made or not/it’s redundant notion not because devs not abiding by it, but by itself has no impact for you.
If gd2 is good you can enjoy it, if not you don’t have to buy/play it. GD2 being made would not change you not getting a different game in its stead, because Crate hasn’t decided to make that X game yet, but has decided to make GD2 and 3 other games in various stages of production. So either way, your game would not see the light for 10+ years: aka it’s not a case of GD2 taking that X arpg from you, because X would at best still only happen much much later, and GD2 would still be as Crate wish.
*it’s sorta same’ish to the people that wanted GD2, somehow thought that FoA meant it would detract from or delay/impact GD2 development, when that was misguided because GD2 wasn’t even on the table’s horizon yet.
“one is not related to the other”
so you don’t have to sweat it

You make self assumptions and being toxic for no reason.
Wouldn’t it be nice if Crate make another ARPG not related to Grim Dawn?
i’m not saying it wouldn’t be nice, but you’re somehow assuming that a GD2 would have some relation to that?
GD2 existing or being made wouldn’t impact a different ARPG existing for you
Nor would GD2 creation itself even have to be what one expects, they could pull the rug under us and have it be a sequel in world building only but not a direct/immediate timeline continuation if they wanted to, making it for all intents and purposes a 90% different game, so GD2 could be set in some scifi futuristic state of Cairn with gods more forgotten or slumbering.
And since Crate is also making/producing multiple other games/have a development list, those games would still be made before a new/X arpg game, so GD2 has no impact for you because Crate have their schedule/production plan with entries/different games working through prior that. So their list is going game A, B, C, D so on… your X arpg is on after E, it’s just not gonna happen before the others because those are already planned/in stages of production/pre-productione etc
and what is remotely toxic about what’s been said?
Yet again you are making self assumption. Are you done yet being self centered and toxic? can we move on?
where am i being toxic
where am i being self assumptious
i’m outright saying yes another arpg would be nice
but Crate has publicly stated they have a handful of games working on, which is also part of why it takes so long for GD2 to even be considered (among other things)
There is no assuming there, this is what the devs themselves have said, you’re either ignoring or misunderstanding it. And getting weirdly upset about both something that’s neither disagreeing with you and is basically just a timeline

You are making self assumptions, what gives you the impression i don’t know all these? I’ve been following Grim Dawn since 2009… and playing it when it public became available…
Havig a different viewpoint isn’t being toxic so let’s keep things civil please.

This applies to me as well having a different view point
if you’re aware of these, it just makes your reaction to already known information all the stranger, no?
yet you’re acting as if i disagreed with you/like i said “no only make GD2 nothing else”, when i did neither…
Yet again it’s your subjective opinions not mine. If you examine my post with thought and carefully read it, you will understand what i said.
I don’t dislike the “Idea” of Grim Dawn 2 at all. It would be nice if we can get another “Fresh” ARPG from crate, not Grim Dawn related, and i think it’s nothing wrong with that either, but people are very fragile about Grim Dawn it seems lol…
i didn’t make any opinion…
i even gave you a specific situation example with the FoA v GD2 fans misunderstanding, since that’s the same notion that can be applied here
there is no rejection or disagreeing, since that’s i don’t have an opposing opinion, just a point that they are not related as we might expect. And it really seems like you keep misunderstanding that or want there to be a “fight” about something that wasn’t even brought up…
GD2 is being made, what GD2 means only devs know, it could be a direct immediate continuation, it could be set 300 or 3000 years apart, or some other relation to the GD IP. But GD2 is what’s on the table “now” set to release in #years, and it wont change anything for us, because devs have a 5point development plan for multiple games already in motion
there is no opinion there for/against on my side, there is no disagreement that another X no-GD ip ARPG from crate would also be nice, only pointing to reality one doesn’t impact the other, because a pre-existing plan is in place/devs already made decision for the next 5 years, that’s it.
Let’s be clear here. Crate are now up to 28 employees. Atm they’re working on the Fangs expansion for GD plus continuing support for the game, developing their game engine which will used for their RTS game which will be set on Cairn in a pre-GD era, continuing support for Farthest Frontier their town building game which was fully released in October and they’re also making a horror survival game. Pre-production work on GD2 will start some time next year. So seems to me they’re pretty busy atm.
Whether Crate will work on another ARPG, GD related or not, after all these others are done only they know and it’ll be many years before that happens. Zantai said recently that GD2 is probably at least 6 years away and given Crate’s MOAR habit I expect it may be longer than that before we see it.

wasn’t Grava(someone) also working on a little side project? (small 1-2dev concept or something as i recall)
I will be a sweet boy now!
