Tried it like this. Kalastor, DE, Decomp hardcapped in game. Good %dmg, good stats, good defences on paper. Very good DE tooltip, ok dmg from the rune. Still doesn’t quite work. Slow in Crucible, slow-ish in SR.
The main reason is clunk. Channeling just doesn’t mesh well with low cd spells. I timed it against the dummy to milliseconds. It takes 0.67 sec to cast Kalastor while channeling with 200% cs - that is the time between the start of Kalastor animation and the next DE hit. This clunk hinders both skills way too much and at the same time compromises your sustain.
I suggest to bring back Censure rr to 25% or even increase it to 28% and either:
look into ways to singificantly reduce the animation transition between DE and cd skills
switch DE support to acid RE support or, wild idea, low cd Reap Spirit
I tried Chill Apostate once, long time ago, and never touched since despite a million of buffs. Fighting build clunk in this game is very frustrating, especially when there are so many well designed and smooth to play builds in the game.
Side note. It feels like smth is very flawed with acid dmg in terms of AoE sustain and clear. Each time you try to make an acid build, that’s not your stock Dervish with cdr for procs and big passive dmg or gigachad Deathguard Reaper, you feel like you are getting barraged from weak mobs outside your mainskill hits.
Even with this Radaggan that has two of the most AoE rich skills i was getting lower AoE vibes than from virtually any elemental or aether build. I did my best in nakedEX, looked at the timer and saw 5 minutes. While builds with lower AoE on paper can do 4:20 runs.
edit: forgot to mention. Kalastor is default color, where is green? Also build runs out of energy.

i don’t understand the CD nerf for Sigil, nor how that would remotely be beneficial to ex acid runes deceiver, let alone old sigil builds
not just like for existing sentinels or ex Alex vit cabalist setup,
but like, i dont’ want do add in a 4th filler skill on acid sigil/runes deceiver just because of dealing with 2 high cd skills now (instead of 1 pseudo spam sigil and 1 cd/rune)
tbh after seeing this thread i thought it might’ve been due to it becoming a drain essence set because channelling doesn’t combine well with spam? dunno.
i think these would work better with sigil spam.
not even close to compensating for the loss of cdr.
Leave the Drain Essence support in the set alone. Set just got the support and people already suggesting to replace it with something, can things get tuned first before we start replacing it with something else?
The only way to tune this without overbuffing any individual mod to a skill is to change animation and idk if that’s exactly easier to do then to make other mods.
I would like for de+kalastor/sigils to work. Right now it doesn’t work.
Interesting that onslaught also works with channeling skills (pets unlikely) because i thought it was just limited to skills that have a cooldown and channeling skills weren’t
Also, i guess its safe to say the set does have onslaught stacks to sigil
If you mean the damage increase from stacks applies to channeling skills, they don’t. In the case Zantai linked, you use Drain Essence to build stacks, then use Sigil to consume the stacks.
where does this leave radaggan Deceiver/or radaggan deceiver’s rune/sigil intent tho? (i’m assuming it’s a intention to also play it as such atleast)
Similar onslaught interaction somewhere or CDR modifier items to come in FoA?
*i really don’t wanna have to use acid purge or such filler weaving with runes/sigil/cof/seal casts when pseudo spam sigil could handle it
