Rain of Fire: big AOE proc-based Skater

This is mostly just a fun, fast farmer: all the AOE makes short work of SR 30-31 and, of course, all campaign content. Vanquisher set lowers the cooldown on Vire’s Might. I’ve referenced this one, but there are others. Instead of the usual route where you get that cooldown to practically 0 and just go back-and-forth scorched earth, here, Vire’s still does damage, but it’s mostly a movement skill, paired with a medal rune. The Vanquisher cooldown bonus is just enough for a comfortable cadence of Vire-Rune-Vire-debuffs (Thermite+Blackwater). The Torch devotion gets you one set of meteors, the Blazeseer set–another, and then the Brimstone mace gets a third rain of fire proc. Destruction all around!

It really is best for farming: main content is no challenge, and the movement emphasis means it’s very fast to get to any particular farming spot (though not as fast as a 0-cd Vire, to be fair). Gets through SR 30-31 easily (full disclosure: haven’t played this build in many months, so what you see here is rusty), does fine with Lokarr & Mogdrogen. Skating, unfortunately, means plenty of opportunities to run headlong into a boss’ shotgun, so it’s definitely not HC viable. Never managed Calla; probably could take a Ravager other than Souls: the summons eventually get so many projectiles going that I reliably run headlong into something that kills me.

Enjoy!

i love theme builds :ok_hand:

side note, you’re not using high potency transmuter? seems contrary to the frequency you’re actually casting BWC

Blackwater is mostly there for the OA shred–but you’re right, the extra radius + slower enemy attack would be great, and extra damage is never a bad thing!

Not just that, you bound Eldritch Fire to it. your main RR devotion. Getting the transmuter more than doubles the proc chance, from 15% to 34%.Considering the big AoE and persistent fire effect, BWC with transmuter becomes a very effective devotion proccer.

Oh right — thanks for the tip!

I would remove the points from Ulzuin’s Wrath and put 1 point each in Resilience, Ascencion and Clarity of Purpose. Maxing Guardians of Empyreon should also make sense.

Also i am not sure about your devotion setup. Do you really need Ghoul here?

maybe something like this will make more sense? YEs it hurts to have only 5 points in Torch but overall one extra heal + more procs.

*28% at 12pt bwc
(because of proc formula it changes every 1sec interval duration change of BWC, so when high potency transmuter got changed it’s no longer 34% at same R11-12 bwc, - actually need to go all way back below rank 8 bwc to get 34% again now :unamused:

large amounts of healing seem to come from lifesteal here, because of VM high frequency still, meanwhile there is no cdr and little regen to actually scale either of those proc/heals’ constiency , making it maybe slightly more risky to drop from 26 to 10% lifesteal and rely so much on just the actual healing procs
the note about a point in Resilience is a good call
I’d probably put the Ulzuin Wrath points in Demon Fire tho, for better DR application, *tho unsure if it’s going to impact sustain meaningully here

Huh, I did not know that. I’d checked the numbers on my Saboteur… but yeah, that one has only 6 ranks in BWC, that’s why he gets the 34%.

But hey, at least now I don’t feel bad about not having more skillpoints to spare for that build. AoE is plenty at 6 ranks, though of course reducing target’s offense by more would be nice…

ye proc “formula”/interaction is interesting for some stuff (RE/BWC/Sigil etc)
i was actually reminded of the bwc high potency change again because of this build, since when i put the skater’s bwc to rank 11 it didn’t increase the proc chance like it “used to”
