You might remember me from this (Help requested for a Dagallon's firestrike purifier (Resolved)) build, a Dagallon’s Fire Strike Purifier that was decent and could do almost all of the game’s content at the time.
Since the release of FoA is close, I decided to jump back in with a similar build but with a different more vanilla flavor, hence a Fire Strike Commando.
This (Commando, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator) is what I’m aiming for as an endgame build based on my prior knowledge of the game and what seemed good as a rifle fire strike commando build that can work (I’m aware that another route is using the Valdun set and Cadence as the default attack, it felt a bit off and not really utilizing Demolitionist properly).
Feedback and recommendations from the more veteran and frequent players is welcome!
Once it’s is finalized, I’ll post it as a proper build.
Health seems a bit low.
Investing in mortar trap with one point is not worth it imho. It just adds clunk.
One pointing brake morale also does almost nothing.
Hellfire mine is also arguable, since mines don’t do much damage anyway and you don’t need the RR.
I personally like boosting Flashbang for the DA reduct, but I don’t know how much is actually worth it.
Not sure if the armor set it optimal, it seems to mostly give bonuses to skills you don’t use, but at the same time I don’t know what would be better. So maybe it works out fine.
Yea health is a bit low, not sure where to squeeze it from yet.
One point mortar trap line with a +6 on it seems like a fun idea but yea 4 active skills apart from FS is a bit too many.
Yea break morale it not doing much.
I think I do actually need the fire RR for a build that deals fire damage and needs the RR but yea maybe not 22/16 and just 16/16.
Not sure about more points in flashbang myself either.
For the armor set I’ve seen obsidian grasps being used but the Justicar handguards are pretty close to what those give and the Burning Justice skill on the complete set bonus seems tasty unless it’s really underwhelming/underperforming ingame.
