Ranger/Scouting unit instead of explore flag system currently in use

Just an idea, maybe a T1 onwards ranger hut would be an idea? Currently the system of exploring maps requires you to spam flag markers. On large maps this takes a lot of time as even when having spare villagers, they take an age to go the location. If you put multiple flags out, even in the same area, it sends a villager for each flag, which is not time effective in any way or form.

A dedicated ranger unit would do it. Base them in a small hut and the more supplies (food and better clothing) they can gather before heading out, the further they can explore. Also armed so that when they meet their 1st predator they just don’t instantly die like current villagers do. Once you’ve used them to explore the map. You can just demolish it and move them on to a new task.

Armed explorers … definitely better.
I hate it when I lose half my laborers to wildlife during exploration phases.

Would be nice to be able to devote part of your barracks to exploration task. So they are heavily armed and travel together. They would potentially travel with a cart full of food and water so it can last longer (but would move slower than by foot).

Yes, yes early on your pop is too precious and scouting is a risk
