I think this guy has just a wrong attitude and / or is used to forums where insults and childish reactions are bread&butter.
This right here what you said is one problem with grim dawn, that I have been saying for more then a year.
(And also on the topic of Fire, Nightblade has zero support for Fire. So it’s not even the correct mastery)
So because nightblade doesnt have fire damage, I can’t choose nighblade and choose fire damage together. Which proves my point, I can’t make a build because its not viable. Because for example nightblade doesn’t have fire, or aether damage.
This is one of the problems with grim dawn, if someone chooses nightblade they must choose cold damage gear, weapons, relics etc. If they don’t the person is screwed.
Nothing wrong with that, plenty do that
But here’s the problem if you try to a conjure a build without understanding the rudimentary mechanics of the game’s mechanics then you can’t really expect that build to prevail against threats such as the Mad Queen ergo can’t expect that balancing decisions are made in response to your posts when it’s pretty evident you’re the one at fault here
The basics of any build are (no-specific order):
- A specific damage type
- Resistance Reduction to support said damage type
- Capped or Respectable resistance levels
- Offensive Ability and Defensive Ability
- Utilizing synergy between classes
- Probably something else, I haven’t played the game for a while
To break it down to what’s wrong with your build
- Your focus is Fire/Lightning
- You picked Blademaster to make this build. But the problem is that Nightblade has no support for the damage types of your desire
Demolitionist is a better fit
Or you could’ve gone for Physical or Pierce based Blademaster
-
You have no resistance reduction to support your build, this is a problem since monsters and especially end game bosses have high resistances to specific damage types. RR helps you with this
-
Whatever else anything I posted before this or whatever anyone else said before me
P.S
There are plenty of visually impressive powerhouses out there, you just haven’t optimized yours
I actually love those places
So much triggering and “creative” retorts
No, I’m not weird
in general blademasters focus on pierce/physical/cold damage @OP so you can always create a new caracter with fire element in it (commando probably)…
My guess is that you can’t hit her and go back fast enough.
Your run speed is 117%. She can see you coming even from East Marsh shrine.
My suggestion, use one point on Blitz or Shadow Strike to get close to her. Hit, run, repeat.
say Whut? looks at 80ish builds
Guess I better delete them then :’(
:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Not really you just need to be creative to make it work. You can easily make it so that Nightblade supports Lightning, Fire or even Aether or whatever other damage type I might be missing
And can beat end game bosses
But…
You can never expect to beat end game bosses with an unoptimized build
Honorable mentions are Dikkiedik and Sfbsmtig, they have the most eccentric builds on the forums and they have no issues with end game bosses, since their builds are well-optimized. Naturally the forum has other impressive build posters as well (since there are too many, i won’t bother recounting their names)
First I didnt know forcewave was caster attack, that is one reason my build is not that good. So I learned that forcewave is caster attack.
So I need to take away forcewave and put it at what instead, I choose forcewave bc of the stun. So it gives me time to get more hits, until I get hit.
Nice try, but earlier you said that MOST builds aren’t viable. Of course, classes which has no synergy to support each other ot builds which contradict each other with different skills are not going to be viable.
You can actually TRY to cook a Saboteur build, focusing on Fire\Lightning with Nightblade as pure support class, but expecting something out of build, which has shit all over it? Really?
A lot of constructive posts this time. Thanks to all that are contributing their knowledge.
I missed the insults on the first thread cause you were too quick
I am not really sure but I think Fire/Lightning Sab should be able to clean out Queen. With difficulties naturally, but I think it can
By Fire/Lightning i mean a DW Sab ofc, and not a Grenado user cause Grenado is obviously top tier skill
Oh btw, bosses can’t be stunned or CC’d by any means available to us
It’s not that people weren’t willing to help, it’s that insulting and rejecting feedback wasn’t encouraging to do so.
I knew that about not being able to stun bosses, I will take away forcewave and put it at what the points? that is my question now.
Here is my build again http://www.grimtools.com/calc/JVlLl5VO Thinking of rashalga what do I need to put the points in.
He should. Nightblade has none of the skills to support Fire\Lightning, but he does have a lot of utility and life-saving things. With Blast Shield, Pneumatic Burst, Blade Barrier Sab can feel comfortable enough, while Demo can put out a lot of damage.
I also really like Phoenix among new Devotions, should support this Sab greatly. It’s exactly what OP wants - Fire, Elemental, Aether damage and good absorbtion. So yeah, a totally viable build, heh.
Okay. First question is… what damage type do you prefer? Fire\Lightning or Physical\Pierce?
Second question is… with shield or without shield?
You can’t have both imo. Pick either Fire or Lightning
OR
Pick another mastery
Unless you have good gear support
Focusing on Fire only -http://www.grimtools.com/calc/vNQmvEN6
There’s still some problems with the build ofc. Also your relic needs to go. It’s really bad, you should have atleast one better Epic Tier relic if not a Mythical one
You can have better pants, rings and amulet as well
Lastly, for Fire Focus you can use Black Legion’s Elite Legion Firestarter from the vendor
So I cant have fire and lightning at the same time, like I do now ?.
Thats the first question I want to ask right now.
You can but
-
You need really good and probably need a proc focus (not an auto-attacker but a passive build)
-
Need to change atleast one of the masteries i.e one should be either Occultist or a Demolitionist, preferably the latter
Even Fire based Blademasters are unheard of, primarily because of the lack of synergy but I think you can manage to get results by focusing on a single damage type
git gud
(Obligatory after a recent related conversation on the GD Discord. Don’t mind me. I’m not even trying to contribute here, as I see no point talking to walls.)
I have 55% life leech resistance is that enough ?
That’s not the problem, life leech resistance is a secondary form of resistance and with good reason
Her projectiles shotgun, that’s the real problem and as Avatar of Dreeg pointed out they go off with each attack made on her during her aura.
You need to be defensively good enough to take all that punishment and for that you need damage absorb (Menhir’s Bulwark and Overguard) and need to be able to dodge projectiles (Shadow Dance)
The other problem is dishing out enough damage to make sure you can bypass the amount of hp healed by her aura. For this you need to focus on your damage type and need to prep your build offensively
Point is you can actually do her with zero life leech resistance if you optimize your basics.
