Good suggestions from Chthon/Fluff/any others I have missed. Surprised the first topic burnt in a fire by the sounds of it.
What they’ve suggested is easy to do and plausible.
It’s not something I’de recommend for beginners but you could keep Meteor or Tempest (though Meteors is probably preferable) if you went for some kind of crazy Physical build with Beronath, Reforged. It is heavily dependant on the sword but luckily, the sword and it’s components can be crafted, you might have to ask someone else to do it for you and provide the bits and components.
I was considering if it might be easier or harder to do a Fire Blademaster (as I’m not sure he’s willing to change mastery) than Physical with Beronath but both have their nuances.
@OP I can understand where you’re coming from. I just beat the Mad Queen for the first time in Ultimate last week with a 2H physical/fire melee commando. It can be incredibly frustrating… My first build was a 2H lightning melee Trickster and he could never beat her. I don’t even know how many times I tried… Finally I gave up and started leveling my second build (a 2H fire ranged commando) and even he couldn’t beat her at first. So, I converted him to melee and changed his armor and finally saw progress. Only after my skills, devotions, gear, components and augments were finalized did I even start to see some progress being made. And that’s kind of the point… That boss is meant to be taken on with a nearly perfect build that can conquer all other content in the game (Mog not included).
Only after I stopped throwing myself at her and started leveling another build did I start having fun again. She’s just one of those bosses that takes an incredible amount of patience and knowledge about your build and her attack patterns to be able to beat. And believe it or not, She’s already been nerfed. IIRC She was much harder in the past.
In any case, My advice would be to move on. Play with another build. There’s nothing wrong with admitting you can’t beat her. Just because other people can kill her in 6 seconds doesn’t mean you should expect to as well. That just shows how refined their builds are. Best of luck to you, though. And once you do finally do kill her it is SUCH a good feeling.
There’s a reason Rashalga is optional content. She’s meant to provide a challenge to the most powerful builds in the game. You can’t expect to just slap a few random concepts together and expect to win that fight.
The percentage of armor absorbtion indicates how much of a physical attack can your armor absorb and mitigate that damage. Anything above that threshold goes through all the way, hurting you.
Ok I put all gear and its up to 81%, I maxed out menhirs bulwark and overguard. with just menhirs bulwark it still stays at 81%, and when I press overguard and check it still says 81% even though those two give armor absorption.
Those two skills give damage absorption and not armor absorption. It’s two completely different stats.
A skill in Soldier that gives armor absorption is Scars of Battle, which according to your Grimtools, you haven’t put a single point in it. Always leave it at least level 8.
No, no, no, both Bulwark and Overguard give you DAMAGE absorbtion, not Armor Absorbtion. While generally, it has the same effect as a former, it executes differently. It provides damage absorbtion from all types of damage and is the most useful, in terms of defence, thing you can go for.
