Hmm, that sounds interesting. But Dead doesn’t allow me to kite properly when Reaper or Kuba arrive. So I hate that map.
As for CC immunities, I am up for reducing slow resists. It gives a fair chance to all builds.
Freeze is a little dangerous. If anyone remembers the Shard of Asterkarn/Night’s Embrace nerfs we all know what freeze does. You usually delete bosses before they land their first hits
I am not sure if confusion is really bad. It gives you breathing space.
You mentioned that in a previous discussion. I died a lot of times doing that because I accidentally used to run into a balcony with Maiden stuck to my ass OR something else sticking to me. It’s a nightmare dude :undecided:
Terror might be more useful for squishier builds, but it sucks in general. Chasing after moronic mobs creates too much chaos on the battlefield and is a definition of anti-fun.
I actually learned it with Fluffs Terminator vid. You preemptively kite the last enemy in 159/169 to the corner so you can kill him while you’re inside the spawnpoint. When the 170 guys spawn there’s a big chance the others won’t go after you for a while so if you got enough dps you’ll kill him before the others notice you. If the others stick to you immediately then it’s the usual kitefest.
I counted 5 shielded tanks in my first post that will be unaffected cause don’t stack DA. Also 11 kiting casters. And ONE dw build - spellbinder.
These will stay cause they don’t rely on DA. I bet we will also see another couple dozens of kiting casters, cause it’s Caster Dawn, why not.
I was so happy playing dw builds: trickster, infiltrator, wanted to add dw saboteur, purifier, had many other ideas. Now it’s poinless. Btw full Ultos 2h vindicator with 4,5k DA just SUCKS, yeah tell me how DA can carry any build.
Unless they come up with a really good gamedesigning solution we will see NOTHING besides tanks and casters. I suggested Zantai the idea to add a buff to crucible for 30% dmg reduction from nemesis for those chars who don’t use shields and caster off-hands (checks both weapon sets to avoid swapping).
Nerfing is easy, actual balancing is not. Will they throw us into the stone age once again? We’ll see.
Indeed. Hovever, my opinion is that these items by themselves won’t change anything. Tanks also use defensive skills and devotions, none of the non-DA tanks presented in my thread needs these items. And casters also don’t need them, they simply avoid 80-90% of damage by kiting (and popping mirrror sometimes).
So diverse, yay!
You’ll notice that at 170 after killling/(or very close to that) Aleks I stick to the left side balcony with reaper& valdaran (and aleks for a few seconds). Moving a bit left right, up down ( I use “W” key for move to so I won’t be stuck in FS animation). This moving helps greatly vs reaper. I interrupts some of his attacks and dimishes his charge levels. I do this as soon as I see the first burst from him…rinse and reapeat. 10 m used well can be more beneficial sometimes than running in circles from balcony to balcony like aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa:D. Exception: Grava cause of his AoE crap. micro kiting does not always work. Taking him down fast is priority usually
They (Aleks, grava, reaper) also go down really fast because they’re vulnerable to fire and racial dmg helps as well.
@Zhuug. The revamped teminator I posted does not stack DA like crazy. i also expect to use elemental balance rings after 0.6 (unless 0.6 brings something better)
Thanks! I never really looked into it that much cause tanking reaper without alex isn’t an issue anymore for my runic bolt tactician after I made some adjustments. I’ll keep it in mind though. It’s useful for squishy builds.
Yesterday I tested my Poison/acid ABB bile launcher WH in crucible and was only super reliable(and pretty damn fun) after bringing it to 4K DA + ~500 OA shred ,so 4.5 DA effectively.
But i won’t post it or record it in this odd DA climate. Has 3x stalwarts and 8x greens lol…waiting for 0.6
No lol. 4.2k DA but traded hp from red and yellow crossroads for jackal atk speed for lifesteal to be more reliable, enough to tank one reaper from full along with word of renewal and health potion. I would really love to go full dps with it once patch hits.
Yeah, I’m not sure what his fate will be with the upcoming updates. I expect the non-MI build will end up being stronger than the MI build, because it uses 22/12 seal and only ~4K DA. It depends on what route they end up going with the DA nerf. If they hardcap PTH at 66% (~3680DA) it’ll probably make all of the fire and elemental forcewave builds discussed here completely unviable for crucible 150-170 (along with many other recent builds).
If you’re interested in fire forcewave, Commando can already finish 170 without DA http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65865
It’s a lot of running around and nowhere near as safe as DA stacking, but it is doable. With my physical forcewave 2 times out of 3 i die on 170. If they make the changes to the blessings posted by Zantai, it shound’t be a problem anymore. The extra dps gained from replacing the DA items and devotions is enough to shorten the fights and leech a lot more hp.
Other builds won’t be so lucky though. I’m not sure Mortar can still be viable, even with the blessings.
Yep, I was going to check this build of yours and DE Apostate too. Postponed it until the patch hits. I probably won’t add anything until then, cause what’s the point - patch will change a lot of things.
Now I’m making a lot of dw builds and having fun with them, cause who knows if they will still be viable after patch. But I have faith.
I’ll be only happy if it will be viable. What I want from this game is all types of builds being viable in end-game content.
From Zantai’s first post it looked like they’re going to screw this up, but his last post contains reasonable changes.
We’ll see. Last proposal was PTH at 60%. Now with 4,5k DA Iron Maiden has 40% chance to hit you. So not that big difference, considering they nerf nemesis a bit and buff the buffs. Nemesis at 160 and 170 are the biggest promlem, it all comes down to overcoming nemesis. I cringe when people shout about 0% to be hit with DA, who the fuck cares about trash mobs? Only nemesis matter and I already mentioned that they still have pretty big chance to hit even with high DA.
Apart from evasion DA also gives damage reduction, I wonder how that will change - maybe values above 3,7k will still give damage reduction at least?
I remember that build. Yeah, doable, but PITA, can’t call it reliable. We’ll see what the changes will be. After Zantai’s last post things don’t look that bad to me anymore, some hope is restored.
With Warcry it has 100% proc chance - it is not shown in grimtools, but it is so in the game. I liked the guaranteed proc. But it does not matter - bind it to forcewave if you want.
Man, I’m just looking at this build and it’s so sweet: no super rare green items, no DA stacking, no problems whatsoever: just kiting, laughing and burning everything down. Juicy!
