Maaan, spellbinders have no chill. So much power and versatility. If I had one, I would try to make a melee Callidor one tho, like the Sorcerer I made. But it would probably be unkillable too, except more fun then Clayrvoiant set spellbinders.
sigh Guess my DW Cold Pain HC Infiltrator isn’t powerful enough to be added to the list, even after the latest update resulting in:
Consistent 20 - 25 min Gladiator 100-150 clears.
30 sec Dummy kill
10 sec Shar’Zul/Alkamos
15 sec Mad Queen
Oh well… will try to further optimize it.
Sorry, that’s my other account, ‘stuck’ on my cell. Here’s the aforementioned build :
I think Zhuugus has been holding back on posting builds lately cause he’s waiting for the new patch. Doesn’t mean your build isn’t strong for his tastes.
7min40 for waves 151 -170 .
Is it there a faster build ?
I belive this https://www.grimtools.com/calc/w26985ON setup would clear even faster.
Thank you so much for the thread. Started reading and learning. My cherished and also only 100 lvl lightning warder, dies around wave 105, and there are so many to go… I’ll read and see what I need to improve. Guess DA/OA and overcapping some resists. But still - I just don’t know anything about some Bosses cause I haven’t met them before, like Anasteria sth of the North, don’t remember - she did me the second time. Then I gave up to read up first.
Is there a Spamming (no transmuter) Callidor Tempest build that can farm crucible 170 ?
I looked to some of the battlemage but didn’t seem to find it.
So made a CT sorc that can farm Crucible 120-150 with no buffs or banners.
Unfortunately, 150-170 is too much for her. But I believe that Spellbinder version of this build would be able to do it, with much more damage and Mark of Torment.
You didn’t write anything about 150-170 though. Have you tried it? What success rate did you have? 100-150 is a bit outdated nowadays, nearly anyone can do it.
Hey, nice record there! Very similar to Ptirodaktill’s spellbinder he is advertising here
I’ve played that. All these spellbinders are glass cannons. One mistake - and you’re out. Since I’m after 90+% success rate here I can’t recommend these to 95% of players.
Requires much skill and effort. But hey, if you’re going for records then this is a very good choice.
You’re welcome! You can read about monsters in grimtools: https://www.grimtools.com/monsterdb/
Most dangerous are nemesis ones and Mad Queen.
Haven’t seen one yet. Why do you want a build with a specific skill spamming anyway? Sounds weird.
Closing to finish burn commando from the list, still lack some items(jewelry, pauldrons) and devotions are not leveled fully, but i like the build, double charge is really fun.
This build takes time to master it seems, due to cd resets and alot of buttons=)
100-150 with doublebuff on the 130-150 was not aa problem(despite a bit annoying double bennjar with his fire res), but on the 160 wave Grava and Galakros smashed me with charges=)

Sorry for being out of the content.
Is there a good ravager build? I mean, the one that won’t take 1hour to kill it? I try google but not many thing come up.
This build has everything to clear all waves including 170 reliably. You have to earn some experience and get used to it and crucible itself. Hardest waves are by far 160 and 170. To pass them with this build you have to kite all the time. Run! Stop only to cast blackwater coctail and forcewave and then start running again as fast as possible. Nothing will be able to kill you when you get used to it.
I believe all builds from “Tanks” category can kill Ravager with some adjustments. Look at Ravager in Grimtools, for example this is Ravager of Minds (there are 3 different types of Ravagers):
https://www.grimtools.com/monsterdb/366/skills
He deals physical, elemental, poison, bleeding and vitality damage plus heavily shreds your resistances. So to engage him you should have all these resistances massively overcapped.
Here is a video where a guy stomps Ravager in 3,5min:
http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69808
This is very similar to build 10 in “Tanks” section, which also performs very well is crucible.
Hi Zhuugus,
Was checking out the DW Lightning Vindicator and I found the way you took Hourglass and Tempest a bit surprising. Is that because you wanted the slow resistance? Also, you should overmax Aura of Censure, not Raging Tempest.
Would a devotion setup like this or this not be more effective?
Quick question, is she worse than in campaign on ultimate?
I met a few nemesis types in crucible and they were easy up to wave 105 or 115 I can’t remember. It was Fabius, Valdaran, Ben sth, and ofc Anasteria sth that killed me. I supposed I just didn’t run and stood stupidly in place… I met Moosie or whatisname in game, also easy. So far my greatest problems - bosses are Alcamos (although i managed him in crucible quite ok); Loxmere and MQ before I geared up. Now I can do her with some kiting, but she is still is not facetankable for me.
Do clones of JB appear on gladiator too? They are also very hard for me. Doable with some deaths
but hard.
The blessings mentioned in the guide - of health and dmg - are these might and fortitude?
Oh, and I had not enough tributes for such upgrades of banners like described in the linked post. Maybe I should just earn them up till 100 wave before going above 100 vaves? And have enough for the banners and blessings. But - when you do vanguard and upgrade them - how many banners you do that way? I did one banner for OA, the other for OA and tried always to stand on the place where both auras where affecting me - that seems to suck, I think now, after I read more - am I right? I mean, you say run run! in some cases, so if I run I run away from the best spot… So how do you experienced players do that?
Thank Empyrion, they do not
DON’T GIVE THE DEVS IDEAS FOLKS PLEASE!
Hi.
Yes, slow resistance is godlike in crucible. Monsters slow everything: attack speed, casting speed and movement speed, so you turn into a cripple. You can’t fight, can’t run away and simply die. Slow res is most crucial for dw builds. That’s why Hourglass and Sailor’s Guide are such great devotions. Hourglass also gives flat DA which is is very useful.
Overmaxing Aura of Censure/Raging Tempest is whatever, just using left over points.
About Tempest vs Hand of Ultos. First, Tempest also allows you to take Wolverine for more DA, that’s very good. Second, RR from Ultos does not stack with the one you have from Viper. I believe Tempest adds more damage overall because of electrocute duration, but I could be wrong, haven’t checked both variants, try them yourself.
In crucible bosses have exactly the same abilities as in campaign, they only have less hp (about 30% less). But! There are mutators in crucible and they can be really painful and make a boss a lot more dangerous.
Mad Queen in particular has an ridiculous aura: when she glows red she reacts to all your ‘projectile’ skills and deals insane damage. You can die in 1 sec to that. So either no projectile attacks or careful kiting.
Anasteria shreds your resistances, so everyone suddenly start hitting you really hard. Beware (and overcap your res, elemental ones and aether as your priority).
No clones of JB in crucible
They have no logic reason to exist in the world of Cairn. The whole JB quest is sort of a easter egg, mainly for those who played from beta and saw all those clones before (like me!).
Blessings are named after gods. Blessing of Amatok is damage, blessing of Empyrion is health.
I do not use any banners whatsoever. I find them nearly useless and they tie you to one spot - I find that extremely inconvenient. Devs are going to buff them in upcoming patch, so maybe they’ll change for the better.
As for now, grab blessings of Amatok and Empyrion and run anywhere you want - that’s my advice. Will save your tributes and nerves.
About Tempest vs Hand of Ultos. First, Tempest also allows you to take Wolverine for more DA, that’s very good. Second, RR from Ultos does not stack with the one you have from Viper. That’s not really true. Enemies in Crucible sometimes have their abilities weakened (or even removed). For example, all “dispel” abilities are removed in Crucible (because otherwise, they’d completely destroyed most builds). Or, Sentinel’s “damage reduction” is weakened in Crucible (35% VS 75% in campain).
The real crap happens, when enemy abilities “overlap” with each other. For example, Sharzul has total resist reduction, and Bloodlord Thalonis casts a curse that reduces some resists. Separetely, they arent dangerous to character with slight overcap, but together, reduction can lead to ridiculous damage taken. Furthermore, if Darius Cronley spawns too, he can disrupt your skills for ~3 sec, so if you rely on life leech, you can die during that period. That’s quite a common “death scenario”. Sure, for strong builds, 149 wave isnt that “hard”, but same crap can happen on higher waves too, with other enemies.
I still think that using one banner (Vanguard, usually) is worth it. Especially if your build is reliant on crits, and is quite tanky to stay on his ground most of the time.
Staying in 2 banners most of the time is quite clunky, and may be not worth it indeed, though…
Oh, and dont forget about consumable from Malmouth Resistance VS enemies like Anasteria of Fleshweaver Harraxis. Those +25% Aether resist are really handy VS them, and i see no reasons not to spam that consumable every time VS those bosses.
I used Hand of Ultos in my Trozan build. 10 targets once per second with 24% WD + some lightning, electrocute and stun => deals lots of damage to large hordes of enemies, also stuns them. I prefer to bind it to Seal of Corruption’s granted skill, so it’ll spread like a plague and proc HoU constantly.
Not to be like ultimate damaging skill, but it frees your focus from trash mobs and you can snipe bosses with TSS, while trash dies somehow.
UPD: with some calculations, 10 targets * 30-40k damage per hit… really solid DPS, I can say
