[REL]Grim Quest

Mod loaded, toon is at L5 in the mod - tag not found.

tag not found where? Character select screen, mastery selection, character info tabs, item tabs, etc…everything you can read is a tag.

It’s quite clear in the sreenshot. Character selection screen.

The game knows absolutely nothing about the mod until it is loaded. If you load into the game, then back out to character selection, it will be fixed.

This Tag not found is happening when you load game each time, then just load your character and exit back to main menu - it will show your character class instead of Tag not found

And to answer your next question:

Always exit and reload Grim Dawn when changing mods or to/from vanilla.

These are common questions we run into all of the time. I need to write an FAQ on mod introduction.

Thanks. Finally sorted itself out after 2 reloads. Came up again when I just tried it with that toon now at L13. Backed out and it was correct. Weird.

That’s just a Grim Dawn engine thing, doubt there’s much that can be done even for the devs to fix that. The mod tags are not read by the game until you load the mod.

Okay, having set up a new toon just to look at the changes for the TQ masteries (great work there Asylum101), can I really have Enchantment and Rupture from the Earth mastery along with Arctic Shell and Storm Nimbus from Storm all running together if I make an Elementalist?

A couple of the skills say they only kick in when your health drops below 100%. Aren’t you dead by that point?

I assume a Hunter can use crossbows as well as guns for ranged attacks? A few of the skills there have the usual blurb about bows and spears, but then say requires a gun or spear - no mention of crossbows.

Curtain of Arrows - what does that do exactly. Says it calls other hunters to come and help you, but if you’re single playing does it do anything? Or is it meant for multi-play games only? Or some kind of mind control over enemy archers?

Was thinking of trying a Storm/Shaman or Storm/Arcanist combo, but honestly so many interesting looking changes to the TQ masteries I don’t know where to start. I can see my playlist of toons growing and growing and growing and …

Why not? In TQ you could have Nimbus and Earth Enchantment and whatever else you wanted, the only exclusive skills were those from Dream.

I believe 100% of your health equates to being at full health.

A crossbow is considered a gun, yes.

It creates a curtain of arrows :stuck_out_tongue: As you can see in the tooltip, it’s a short duration, long cooldown skill that fires arrows every 0.1 second intervals in a 5 meter area. If you do the math, 1.5 second duration at 0.1 second interval and 3 arrows per interval totals out to something like 45 arrows fired, the damage listed on the skill is per arrow.

Thanks, Asylum101. Wasn’t sure Rupture and Arctic Shell were working in the same way as the other two do.

Duh, 100% heatlh - obviously doesn’t apply to my brain!

Hoorah! Looking forward to using guns/rifles/crossbows then. Haven’t really found any builds in the GD masteries that favour a gunslinger much. Hoping the Inquisitor is going to step up for that one.

Curtain of Arrows plus Refresh? Sounds fun!

Curtain of Arrows is basically like a smaller scale devastation from the Arcanist mastery, but yes, Refresh is ridiculously powerful, as usual.

Um, not tried that skill yet. Arcanist is my least favourite GD mastery so haven’t yet gotten high enough up the mastery tree to try it.

Shame you nerfed Herbal Remedy, Heat Shield and Energy Shield by making them of limited durations. Hate that so I never use them. Bumbleguppy did the same for Heat Shield and Energy Shield in his LoC mod. :frowning:

I wouldn’t really call those nerfs, the skills are far stronger now than they were.

Yeah, but it’s more buttoms to push more often.

Dat Nature is one of my favourite masteries, alongside with Spirit and Dream

Too bad that one weird bug from Cornucopia stopped me from playing Occultist+Nature - Gut skill from Boneblade 70lvl is broken, it heals monsters instead of reducing their life regen :mad:
When this will be fixed i’ll continue making a totally incredible-unstoppable superhero with 4k life regen

Nature rocks! Along with Spirit. I started a Druid because of all the interesting skills and I’m having a petmancer blast having just reached the Hidden Lab riftgate. 3 skellies and wolves and just about to get the Nymph out to join in. Then put a point into various Nature synergies before heading back to Spirit for Bone Fiend and the Liche. Great fun Asymlum101. Thanks for making this mod.

Grim Quest has come a long way. I recall initial impressions/reviews being poor. I’ll admit I didn’t find them attractive at the time either. With asylums dedication and continued dev, they have become fun masteries to play. Not to mention all of the additional items GQ has brought!

I agree. The Legion of Champions mod for TQIT and TQAE that Bumbleguppy has is also amazing. I only started playing it in the last year or so, but even in that short time it’s still changed a lot as he keeps adding/improving things. If you like playing a petmancer it’s a great mod as all the masteries now have pets.
