[REL]Grim Quest

Hey, Asylum101, what level do the Epic Staffs start dropping? I’ve only ever found one so far around level 40. Are the Epics all late-game?

They should start dropping around level 15.

Well, I play both DAIL and Grimarillion, so maybe it’s them? I’ll have to try out just Grimquest. It all my hours of play I’ve only ever found that one.:undecided:

I only recently found my 2nd in Grimarillion.

It’s possible, when it comes to modding, anything can go wrong. But its probably more likely that they are just rare or I screwed up the loot tables

Is the Kodama pet immortal and does his Serenity buff gives CDR to hero or pets? :eek:

The cooldown buff should only affect players. It’s a single target buff iirc. No point making it work on pets, pets don’t make use of cdr last I tried. And no its not immortal. I might change that but I’m not sure yet. No stances because pets like to turn off their buffs when you switch so… Preventative measures. :wink:

I may have found a bug and/or I am dumb and have done something wrong possibly. I could use a bit of help

I have DIAL installed (latest, EP), and I have checked every Grim Quest mastery and none of the abilities have any sounds when i cast or use them, all other masteries and skills do except the Grim Quest ones.

Is this normal, or have i done something wrong while installing possibly, some setting i need to change?

What’s the class name for an Arcanist/Storm combo? It doesn’t show up in the main character screen or ingame for me. And yes, even backing out from the game to look doesn’t fix it though all the other toons’ names are fine. :confused: Is there a list somewhere in the thread with all the GD/TQ combo names?

There should be a list available from the tags I’ve posted for translations, on Nexus mods there should be a link for text_en or modstrings. If you can figure out how to read it you can see the combos but it’s a little complicated. As for the names themselves, I thought I had copied the combos from grimarillion.

Thanks Asylum101 and jiaco. :slight_smile: I searched through the Grimarillion thread and found a list from early on so not sure how correct it is now. Arcanist/Earth was down as an Enchanter, but that seems to have been changed to Avatar of Flame in a later post there.

Did notice one or two spelling inconsistencies which may have been corrected by now.

Nightblade/Spirit - Lichblade
Nightblade/Nautre - Sworn of Gaea

Shaman/Earth - Eye of Gaia
Warfare/Earth - Hand of Gaia

Soldier/Spirit - Licheguard

For consistency’s sake they should all be either Gaea or Gaia and Lich or Liche.

Also this is what I get in Grim Quest for the Arcanist/Storm name.

Distortion Wave’s Ripple buff doesn’t seem to do anything at all for me, no changes in cooldown, damage nor mana cost when I put a point on it.

Ring of Fire:
-Moved Retaliation bonus, since I changed the template to support the debuff in the modifier, this stat doesn't work anymore.
+Rescaled the AOE size, now increases by 0.3m for the first 4 levels, then 0.2m for the next 8 levels, and the final 10 ranks are +0.1m. The starting size is still 1.5m, but at rank 12 it will reach 4m, and rank 22 it will hit 5m.

Heat Shield:
+Now has the retaliation bonus from Ring of Fire.

Flame Surge:
*Adjusted some settings on the audio, moved the sound from on hit trigger to an oncast trigger.

Flame Surge - Incineration:
*Fixed a tier issue.

Spirit:
Enslave Spirit:
*Fixed a missing tag for Transmutation.

Underworld Pact:
*Added a skill connector line to show that Serve thy Master and Spirit Ward are modifiers. 
-Added a mana reserve.

Summon Outsider:
*Fixed a missing letter in the description. 

Ternion Attack:
*Fixed an issue with distorted level values at ranks 11-15.

*Adjusted a bunch of things regarding the projectile and how it travels. Should perform better now. Let me know if weird things happen.

Thunderball - Spark:
+Added a 30% energy cost reduction. 
+Range reduction reduced from -2.0 m to -1.5m
*The projectile should now change and now look appropriately sized if you have this transmuter.

Freezing Blast:
+Added cold damage.
-Reduced vitality and frostburn damage
-Reduced the debuff values. Physical resist debuffs can't be too powerful, sorry.

Cold Snap:
-Reduced Vitality damage by 50%
+Added Cold Damage equal to Vitality damage.
+Added All Retaliation modifier.
+Added All Retaliation modifier for pets as well.

Cold Snap - Storm Surge:
-Reduced Aether damage and electrocute damage by 25%
+Added Lightning damage.

Arctic Shell - Heart of Frost:
-Removed Retaliation modifiers.
+Added flat cold and frostburn retaliation.
+Added retaliation for pets as well.

Storm Nimbus - Electrical Conduit:
-Removed Retaliation modifiers.

Energy Shield - Reflection:

Glacial Armor:
-Removed slow resistance. Redundant stat since it was already on Winds of Storm.

Squall:
*Added a 500 ms interval. Ground based DOTS like Sigil of Consumption, Black Water Cocktail, and Grasping Vines all have an interval time of around 1000 ms (1 second) meaning they deal their damage one per second. Squall didn't have one, so it was dealing damage at an insane rate, much higher than intended.

Squall - Hail:
-Removed damage.
+Added removed damage to an autocasted skill on Hail, which creates a hailstorm near Squall's location.

Nature:
Regrowth - Overgrowth:
*Changed the template of overgrowth to a passive buff rather than a shield, this way it won't disappear once the damage is soaked.

Kodama:
+Now invulnerable to damage, so you won't have to resummon it constantly.

Rogue:

Poison Gas Bomb:
+Increased max rank to 16, ultimate rank to 26.
+Moved down a tier.
Tweaked the skill again to work like Blackwater Molotov, in which it creates an area of constant damage, without the bug it had the last time I tried.
+Creates an aoe damage zone that lasts 3 seconds.

Poison Gas Bomb - Shrapnel:
+Increased max rank to 12, ultimate rank to 22.
*Now triggers once Poison Gas Bomb detonates.

Poison Gas Bomb - Aphotic Ichor:
+Increased max rank to 12, ultimate rank to 22.
*Now triggers once Poison Gas Bomb detonates.

Lay Trap:
+Increased damage slightly.
+Split damage, now deals 50% pierce, 50% physical.
+Trap now innately has a small chance to pierce targets.
+Trap mana cost reduced.
+Trap cooldown reduced to 5 seconds. Cooldown is reduced further per level.
-Pet lifetime reduced by half.

Lay Trap - Improved Firing Mechanism:

NEW Lay Trap transmuter - Multi-shot Trap:
*Reduces the damage, pierce chance and speed of the bolt trap summoned however causes it to fire 8 bolts spread out in a 360 degree radius rather than 1 bolt.

NEW Lay Trap modifier - Piercing Bolts:
*Increases the pierce chance of the bolt trap's attacks and adds bleeding damage.

NEW Lay Trap modifier - Rapid Fire Mechanism:
*Increases the piercing damage of the bolt trap
*Once in combat, each time it hits a target the attack speed will ramp up slightly. The amount of times this attack speed ramps up depends on the rank of this modifier.

Throwing Knife:
+Removed Cooldown
+Reduced energy cost
-Reduced damage.
-Fixed a bug where the skill had 3x as much bleeding damage as it was supposed to.
-Reduced pierce chance.

NEW Transmuter The Finale:
*Increases the cooldown
*Increases the damage
*Adds additional pierce chance 
*Increases bleeding duration.

Throwing Knife - Flurry of Knives:
*Renamed to Deadly Guile
*Adjusted flat damage bonus.
+Added a small amount of pierce chance.

NEW Transmuter Flurry of Knives:
*Three levels
*Adds 3, 5, 7 projectiles to Throwing Knife skill.
*Reduces damage of the skill.

Throwing Knife - Flick of the Wrist:

+Added a bleeding damage modifier.

Blade Honing:
+Increased max level to 12 and ultimate rank to 22.

Envenom Weapon:

*Rescaled the physical conversion to match the new ultimate

-Bonus to pets is now equal to about 50% of the original value.

Envenom Weapon - Nightshade:

Envenom Weapon - Mandrake:

+Adjusted the scaling for the fumble chance.
-Reduced the duration scaling for the confusion slightly.

Envenom Weapon - Toxin Distillation:
+Added the flat acid damage bonus to pets as well, but at 50% value.
+Added a modifier equal to the one already existing but as a pet bonus.

Bladefury - Slice and Dice:
+Increased max rank to 12 and ultimate rank to 22.
+Replaced increased pierce ratio in favor of increased pierce damage at double the old value.
-Added mana cost increases per rank.

Boomerang Blades:
+Increased ultimate rank to 22.

Boomerang Blades - Dark Vapor:
+Increased max rank to 10 and ultimate to 20.
-Added a mana cost.

Calculated Strike:
+Max rank increased to 16 and ultimate to 26.

Calculated Strike - Lucky Hit:
+Max rank increased to 8 and ultimate to 18.

Dark Arts:
+Increased ultimate rank to 20.
-Slightly reduced cast speed value. (to be more in line with other speed values from other GD masteries)
-Slightly reduced deflect value.
+Increased DA value.
+Slightly increased vitality decay modifier

Blade Mastery:
+Increased ultimate rank to 20.
-Slightly reduced attack speed value. (to be more in line with other speed values from other GD masteries)

Dual Wield:
+Increased max rank to 8 and ultimate to 18.
+Increased the pierce damage scaling.
+Added armor pierce modifier.
+Added pierce and bleeding damage modifiers.

Flashpowder:
+Increased the max rank to 12 ultimate rank to 22.
-Reduced fumble chances.
-Reduced DA reduction slightly.
-Slightly reduced upper values for confusion chances.
+Added duration scaling.

Lethal Strike:
+Increased max rank to 16 and ultimate to 26.
-Adjusted weapon damage scaling slightly.

Lethal Strike - Mortal Wound:
+Increased max rank to 12 and ultimate rank to 22.
-Removed HP reduction. (as a boss killing skill, this is useless since most bosses are immune to this and the value was pretty low to be any use vs normal mobs)
+Improved scaling on crit damage, bleed, poison and vitality decay modifiers.

Items:
Many items had their loottables adjusted, no drop chance changes just organization fixes. Some items (mostly caster oriented ones) will have a chance to drop with the 'higher' level GQ skill bonus affixes. Other items like staves will not spawn with 'fighter' oriented GQ affixes, so say goodbye to the Warlord's Stout Staff.

Affixes: 
*The higher level GQ affixes now provide +2 to the mastery and +2 to 2 skills instead of +1 to 1 skill.
*The lower level GQ affixes no longer provide a % to relevant attributes (phys/cun/spirit/hp/energy) and instead grant the same bonus that the higher level ones grant, at a lower value. For example, Defense will not grant 4% physique and 4% life but instead will now grant +10% Physical damage and a chance to stun with an stun duration modifier. Of course this is all in addition to the generic +1 to mastery skills.

All Unique Spears:
*Adjusted some behind the scenes stuff for itemlevelequations.

All Unique Staves:
*Fixed an issue causing these items to spawn with affixes. (if you want these, play DAIL)
*Adjusted some behind the scenes stuff for itemlevelequations.

Dreamweaver's Rod:
+Fixed an incorrect skill link.

I got time to do another full play-through on a new character starting a fresh. Will post my thoughts once I am done.

A quick question, for the spirit auras how do I know the effectiveness of the inner aura? Do I just do X/(0.15) on the displayed values?
